Website design Ballarat visitors and locals trust.
DIGITALON designs and builds custom WordPress websites for businesses across Ballarat and the western Victorian goldfields. One Australian team handles the design, the build, the hosting and the support for a price agreed before work starts.
Two audiences, one website.
A lot of Ballarat businesses are read by two very different people. One is a local who already knows the street you are on and wants your hours, your prices and a phone number. The other is a visitor down for the weekend, or a Melbourne customer comparing you with a city supplier, who knows nothing about you yet.
We build the site so both get what they came for without scrolling past each other. Local detail, service areas and trading hours sit where a resident expects them, while the pages that sell the work explain who you are and what you charge for someone who has never been past your door.
Half of them are not here yet.
Searches for a Ballarat business come from people in town, people visiting the goldfields and people comparing you from Melbourne.
- Plain service wording, not slogans
- Where you work and how far you travel
- A price or a route to one
SITE
Explain, then make it easy.
A clear structure tells Google, AI answer engines and a first-time reader the same story about the business.
- One page per service
- Honest photos of real work
- Calls, forms and maps that work on a phone
What every DIGITALON website includes.
The same Australian team designs, builds, hosts and supports the site, so nothing in the list below is quoted again later.
Designed for your business, not a theme
Every page is designed from scratch in WordPress around what you sell and who buys it. You are not picking a template and hoping your content fits it.
Built to be found
Clean structure, fast pages, sensible headings and metadata come as standard. Keyword research and on-page SEO are included from Standard, and AI search optimisation at Premium.
Readable on the phone first
Most local searches happen on a phone. Layouts, menus, forms and buttons are checked at desktop, tablet and phone widths before the site goes live.
Yours to edit
You get the admin login, a site you can update yourself and 1:1 training at Premium. If you would rather not touch it, our maintenance packages cover the updates for you.
Hosted and supported in Australia
Australian cloud hosting, SSL, nightly backups and a support team you can reach by phone or email, with no offshore help desk in between.

View details ↗How we work with Ballarat businesses.
DIGITALON is based at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, and we work with Ballarat clients over video calls, screen sharing, email and the phone. We do not claim a Ballarat office or local staff, and your project is never passed to an overseas team.
Victoria runs an hour ahead of our Queensland desk through the warmer months and shares our clock the rest of the year, so a mid-morning Ballarat call always lands inside our working day. Being off-site also means you are not paying for anyone's travel time out from Melbourne.
Australian team, one point of contactTalk to the people building it
You deal with the designer and developer doing the work, not an account manager passing messages along.
Everything agreed in writing
The page map, the fixed price and what is included are settled before the build, so the final invoice is the number you approved.
Content without the homework
We send a content outline and work around placeholders, so the build keeps moving while you gather photos and wording.
Still here after launch
Training, maintenance packages and Australian hosting come from the same team that built the site.
We deliver. You celebrate.
A website build runs on a short, predictable path. Most sites take one to three weeks to a first version, then move at the pace of your feedback.
Talk it through
We ask what the business does, who you want to reach and what the website has to achieve.
Agree the plan
You get a fixed price, a page map and a content outline, with placeholders where you need them.
Design and build
We design the pages, build them in WordPress and check them at every screen size.
Review and launch
Three rounds of revisions on structure and content, then launch, training and support.

Ballarat website design questions.
Prices, timing, content, search and what happens once the site is live.
Ask us about your website ↗What does a website for a Ballarat business cost?
Our fixed one-off prices are $2,990 for Essentials (5 custom-designed pages), $3,990 for Standard (10 pages) and $4,990 for Premium (20 pages). All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
Design, build, stock images, plugin licences and training are all in that figure, so there is no second invoice for the parts that make the site work. Inclusions are listed on our website design pricing page.
Is the quote different because we are not in Melbourne?
No. The same three prices apply to every Australian client and they are published on the site, so you can hold a Melbourne quote next to ours before you ever speak to us.
Which package suits a trade or agricultural supplier working out of Ballarat?
If you cover a handful of services and one service area, Essentials is usually enough. Businesses listing several trades, product lines or towns they travel to normally need Standard, which adds keyword research and on-page SEO. Premium suits a business that keeps adding content, and includes AI search optimisation and training.
Can we sell products online as well as take enquiries?
Yes. Our eCommerce builds run on WooCommerce and start at $4,990 for six pages, $5,990 for ten and $7,990 for twenty. Product search, customer accounts, shipping rules and payments are set up during the build, which matters if you are posting to Melbourne as well as serving the counter. See eCommerce website development.
How soon could the new site be live?
Most builds reach a first full version in one to three weeks from the project start. After that the timing depends on how quickly feedback comes back. Three rounds of revisions on structure and content are included.
We have no words or photos ready yet. Is that a problem?
Not at all. We send an outline saying what each page needs, then design with placeholder text and images until yours arrive, so nothing stalls while you sort out photography or wording.
Will the site be found by people searching before they drive up for the weekend?
Standard and Premium include keyword research and on-page SEO, so the pages are written around the terms real people use, including the ones typed from outside Ballarat. Nobody can promise a position on Google, and any agency that does is guessing. Continuing work on rankings is our ongoing SEO service.
Our current site is old and slow. Can it be rebuilt without losing what already works?
Yes. We keep the pages that already bring in enquiries, redirect the old addresses to the new ones and carry over the titles and descriptions that are earning their keep. A website redesign is scoped the same way as a new build.
Once it is live, who handles updates and hosting?
You can make changes yourself with the admin login, or leave them with us. Our maintenance packages cover WordPress and plugin updates, backups, security and support, and Australian hosting can run alongside them.
Are your prices GST inclusive?
Yes. Every price we advertise is in Australian dollars and already includes GST, so the figure you read is the figure on the invoice.
