Web design Byron Bay for brands that travel.
DIGITALON designs and builds WordPress websites for Byron Bay businesses, from labels, makers and food producers to retreats, stays and the trades that serve the Shire. The people designing and building them sit at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast, and you agree the price in writing before any work begins.
A small town with a wide audience.
Byron Bay sits below Cape Byron, the most easterly point of the Australian mainland, with the hinterland villages of Bangalow and Mullumbimby behind it. Visitors come for the beaches, the lighthouse walk and the town itself, and many go home with a label, a maker or a retreat they want to find again.
That is why so many Byron businesses sell far beyond the Shire. A clothing label, a food producer or a retreat hears from customers who stayed once and now live in Sydney or Melbourne, so the website has to carry the brand and do the selling that the shop counter did while they were in town.
Is it the one I remember?
Past visitors search by name, product or the place they stayed, then check whether they can buy or book from home.
- The label, product or stay
- Whether it ships or books online
- How it fits their plans
SITE
Carry the brand home.
Pages that look and read like the business, with clear buying or booking steps, turn a one-time visitor into a regular customer from anywhere.
- Product and stay pages with photos
- Simple buying and booking steps
- Your own photography, used well
What every DIGITALON website includes.
The same Australian team designs, builds, hosts and supports the site, so nothing in the list below is quoted again later.
Designed for your business, not a theme
Every page is designed from scratch in WordPress around what you sell and who buys it. You are not picking a template and hoping your content fits it.
Built to be found
Clean structure, fast pages, sensible headings and metadata come as standard. Keyword research and on-page SEO are included from Standard, and AI search optimisation at Premium.
Readable on the phone first
Most local searches happen on a phone. Layouts, menus, forms and buttons are checked at desktop, tablet and phone widths before the site goes live.
Yours to edit
You get the admin login, a site you can update yourself and 1:1 training at Premium. If you would rather not touch it, our maintenance packages cover the updates for you.
Hosted and supported in Australia
Australian cloud hosting, SSL, nightly backups and a support team you can reach by phone or email, with no offshore help desk in between.
Byron Bay websites, priced plainly.
A single offer can live on five pages; a retreat, stay or maker with several offers, events and a story to tell usually needs ten; a label with many collections or a journal suits twenty.

Wurtulla, where we work, is on the Sunshine Coast north of Brisbane, over the border from Byron Bay, and we have no office in the Shire. The project is run over calls, email and online meetings with drafts on a shared screen, and over summer we book calls in New South Wales time.
That suits owners who are often on the shop floor, at a market or running a retreat. Reviews fit around your week, and you bring what only you can, such as the story behind the business, the photography you love and what customers ask after their stay, before any page is approved.
Your brand, your photography, our buildYour brand guide, followed
Colours, type and photography follow the guide you already have, so the website feels like the business people remember.
Dates you can change
Retreat dates, rooms and events can be updated from your admin login when the calendar moves.

Buyers far from town

Talk it through
We ask what the business does, who you want to reach and what the website has to achieve.
Agree the plan
You get a fixed price, a page map and a content outline, with placeholders where you need them.

Review and launch
Three rounds of revisions on structure and content, then launch, training and support.

Byron Bay web design questions.
Prices, GST, stores, launches and support, for businesses in Byron Bay and the hinterland.
Ask us about your website ↗We run a hinterland retreat with rooms, programs and events. How many pages do we need?
Ten is typical, the Standard package at $3,990: home, about and contact, the rooms or stays, each program, an events page, getting here and your booking terms. That package brings keyword research and on-page SEO, so program pages use the phrases guests type when they look for a retreat.
A single stay with one offer can launch on Essentials, five pages for $2,990, and a retreat with a full calendar or a journal of articles may suit Premium, twenty pages for $4,990, which adds a self-editable blog. The comparison sits on website design pricing.
Do your prices include GST, and is there anything else to budget for?
Yes, GST is included: $2,990, $3,990 or $4,990 in Australian dollars covers the build, with the GST shown on your tax invoice. Beyond that, budget for your domain name and, if you want them, monthly hosting and maintenance.
An online store also carries payment gateway fees, and any feature outside the package, such as a booking integration, is quoted in writing before work begins.
We sell our ceramics direct and through stockists. Can the website handle both?
The retail side, yes. Basic, at $4,990, gives you a six-page store with card and PayPal checkout; Standard, at $5,990, adds product categories and filters, customer accounts, coupons and shipping rules by zone; Premium, at $7,990, adds Afterpay, Apple Pay and Google Pay, product compare and a postage calculator.
Wholesale prices for individual stockists aren't part of a package, so trade accounts are scoped and quoted first; a simple stockist enquiry form can sit on any site. Compare the stores on eCommerce pricing.
We're launching a new range in spring. Can the website launch with it?
Yes, if we plan backwards from the launch date. Plan on a first version within one to two weeks of starting, longer for a store or extra functions, with three rounds of revisions after it at your pace.
Product pages can be built with placeholder images and swapped for the final photography in the week before the range goes on sale.
We already have a brand guide and our own photography. Will the website follow them?
Yes. The design is built around the guide you have, its colours, typefaces and tone, and your photography carries the pages, with royalty-free stock images only filling gaps. Our content outline spells out the job of each page, so you can choose images and words to match.
If your guide sets rules for type or imagery, send it at the start so every page follows it from the first draft.
Most visitors reach our site from a link on our social profiles, on a phone. What should that page do?
Get them to the next step quickly: who you are in a line, the product, stay or program they came for, and one clear button to buy, book or enquire. Images are sized for phones, and the page is tried at phone, tablet and desktop widths before launch.
Running your social accounts stays with you; the website's job is to be the clear, quick place those links lead to.
People search for Byron Bay stays and retreats from all over Australia. Can our site compete?
That is what the site is built for. From Standard, keyword research reveals how people phrase those searches, by stay, experience or village, and on-page SEO puts that language into your titles, headings and descriptions so each page is clearly about one offer.
Premium's AI search optimisation (GEO) sets out your offers so AI assistants can describe them when someone plans a trip. Nobody can promise a position in Google or a mention by an AI tool; for steady work on search, see our SEO packages.
Our site looks lovely but guests can't find how to book. Can a redesign fix that?
Usually, yes. Our website redesign work reshapes the structure so the booking path is obvious from every page, keeps the addresses that already bring visitors and redirects any that change. Any booking tool you use is checked before it is reconnected or swapped.
The look you like can stay. The cost depends on how much changes: a simple restructure may fit a website package, while a larger rebuild is quoted on its own.
Do we need a maintenance package, or can we look after the site ourselves?
Either works. Every site has self-editable content, so you can change words, prices and photos yourself; a maintenance package adds the technical side, WordPress and plugin updates, security and backups, handled by us.
Many owners keep the content and hand us the updates, especially in a busy season. Hosting is optional too; with our Australian WordPress hosting, the site lives on servers in this country, monitored around the clock, with SSL.
Who will we actually deal with during the project?
One person on our team at Wurtulla, from the first call until launch. We talk by phone, email and online meeting, share drafts on screen and book summer calls in New South Wales time; there is no Byron Bay office.
Use the contact page to arrange a first call, and see finished websites in the portfolio.
