WooCommerce specialists.

Every store DIGITALON builds runs on WordPress and WooCommerce, and it is the only platform we build stores on. It is not the only way to sell online. It is the one that leaves you holding everything at the end of it.

WooCommerce is open source and free. There is no monthly platform fee and no commission on your sales: your payment provider charges its transaction fee, and that is where the deductions stop.

Because it is WordPress, the shop and the words that bring people to it live in one place, edited the same way, by you, with the administrator login yours from day one.

Three eCommerce packages.

Each one is the package before it plus more of the store. They differ in how much is built in — never in who builds it or how carefully.

In every eCommerce package.

Most agencies quote the build, then invoice the plugin licences, the stock images and the security on top. Every one of these twelve is in every DIGITALON eCommerce package, Basic to Premium, at no extra cost. What changes between packages is on the three cards above.

Stop paying for six subscriptions to run one store.

Award-winning design

Designed by an award-winning Sunshine Coast team, not assembled from a bought template.

Australian local support

Everybody who answers you is on the Sunshine Coast, in your own working hours.

Search engine optimisation

Keyword and category research done before the design starts, not bolted on after launch.

Self-editable content

You get the administrator login and can change any word, price or photo yourself.

All software licences

Every plugin licence the store needs is inside the price, with nothing to renew separately.

Nightly backups

The whole store copied to secure cloud storage each night, on our hosting.

24/7 security monitoring

Watched around the clock, with malware removed before it has time to spread.

WordFence firewall

Installed and tuned to your store, rather than switched on and left at its defaults.

SSL certificate

HTTPS on every page. Not optional once you are taking payments.

Royalty-free stock images

Any stock image we use on your store is included, at no extra charge.

Smart image compression

Product photos compressed automatically and served as WebP or AVIF, so pages load faster.

Social media links

Your store connected to every channel you actually run, so the brand holds together.

Fifteen features you can add to any store.

None of these are needed to open. Every one of them exists because a shop that was already selling wanted to sell more. Add any of them to any package, at the start or later.

Start small. Add what sells.

Ask us about these

Mega menu

One dropdown that shows the whole catalogue at once, so a shopper reaches any category in a single move instead of three.

Wish list

Customers save what they are not ready to buy and come back to it. It also tells you what is wanted before it is bought.

Live search

Results appear as they type, on the same page. Type “red lipstick” and the products are there before the phrase is finished.

Product compare

Two or three products side by side on price, specification and reviews, so the decision gets made on your site rather than somewhere else.

Cart abandonment recovery

An automatic reminder to the people who filled a cart and left. Most carts are forgotten rather than rejected, and this is how you get them back.

Exit intent pop-up

When the pointer heads for the close button, one last offer appears — a discount code, a free guide, a reason to stay a minute longer.

Shipping tracking

The order number is matched to the carrier’s tracking number, so customers follow their parcel from your store instead of ringing you about it.

Dynamic pricing and discounts

Rules instead of manual edits: spend over $100 and $30 comes off, buy three and the third is cheaper, this category is reduced all week.

Best-selling, recent and featured

A curated page that puts your strongest products in front of the shopper who cannot decide what to look at.

Top-bar sale pop-up

An announcement strip across the top of the store. Hard to miss while the sale is on, one switch to turn off when it ends.

Out-of-stock prediction and notice

Stock levels shown before the checkout and a warning when something is about to run out, so nobody finds out after they have paid.

Email marketing integration

Customer emails collected at checkout flow into Mailchimp, Klaviyo or whichever platform you use, ready for the next campaign.

Top-level store security

Payment and customer data handled to Australian requirements by an Australian team, with the firewall, monitoring and certificates already in place.

Cloudflare global CDN

Your store served from the nearest of hundreds of locations worldwide, so a customer in Perth waits no longer than one down the road.

Infinite scalability

Cloud hosting that grows for a sale and shrinks afterwards, so a Black Friday spike neither takes the store down nor costs you all year.

The client view.

We build.
You sell.

Five steps from the first conversation to your first order. You see the work at each one, and nothing goes live until you have tried it yourself. Two to three weeks from start to a basic store; extra integrations add to that, and we tell you how much before we begin.

Start my store
  1. Step 01

    Search and scope.

We research what your customers search for, then agree the categories, the pages and the features before anything is drawn.

  2. Step 02

    Design.

You see the design and sign it off. Changing a layout at this point costs an email; changing it later costs a rebuild.

  3. Step 03

    Build.

Products, payments, shipping rules and tax set up properly on WordPress and WooCommerce, with your content in place.

  4. Step 04

    Test.

Real test orders through every payment method and every shipping rule, on a phone as well as a desktop.

  5. Step 05

    Launch and train.

We go live, then spend an hour with you on your own store so you can add products and run a sale without calling us.

Talk to the team
What does an eCommerce website developer do?

An eCommerce website developer builds the online store itself: the product catalogue, the shopping cart and checkout, the payment gateways, the shipping and tax rules, and the way the whole store is organised so shoppers and search engines can find products. At DIGITALON that also means the design, the keyword and category research before it, and an hour of training on your own store after it, all from one Sunshine Coast team.

How much does an eCommerce website cost in Australia?

Every DIGITALON eCommerce package is a fixed, one-off price that includes the design, the WooCommerce build, every plugin licence, the stock images, security and backups, so nothing is invoiced later. Click View price on any package above to see the current prices for Basic, Standard and Premium. A store with custom integrations or a very large catalogue is quoted on scope.

There is no monthly platform fee: WooCommerce is free, so your only ongoing costs are hosting and, if you want it, maintenance.

Which platform do you build on?

WordPress and WooCommerce, only. It is reliable, it is fully customisable, and it means you can maintain the store yourself instead of paying somebody every time a price changes.

See how we work with WooCommerce.

WooCommerce or Shopify — which is better for an Australian store?

Both can run a good store. The difference is who owns it. Shopify is rented: a monthly platform fee, a percentage of every sale unless you use its own payment system, and a store that lives on their platform. WooCommerce is open source and free, it runs on your own hosting under your own login, and it takes no commission — your payment provider’s fee is the only deduction.

It also lives inside WordPress, so the shop and the articles that bring people to it are one website. For an Australian business that plans to grow, we recommend WooCommerce, and it is the only platform we build on.

Does WooCommerce charge fees or commission?

No. WooCommerce itself is free and takes no percentage of your sales. The only transaction fee is your payment provider’s — Stripe, PayPal, Afterpay or your bank — and that is between you and them. Some optional WooCommerce extensions carry an annual licence; every licence your package needs is included in the price.

How long does it take to build an online store?

Two to three weeks to the basic version of your store. Extra features or integrations add to that, and we tell you how much at the scoping stage rather than partway through.

Can you move my existing store to WooCommerce?

Yes. We rebuild existing stores on WooCommerce whether they started on Shopify, Wix, Squarespace or an older WordPress build. Products, categories, customers and order history come across, the web addresses that already rank are kept or redirected, and the old store stays live until the new one has been tested. You keep what the old store earned in Google.

Can I accept credit cards, PayPal and Afterpay?

Yes. Stripe and PayPal are set up in every package, so Visa, Mastercard and American Express work from day one. Google Pay, Apple Pay and Afterpay come with Premium.

We will recommend the combination that suits your customers and your margins — every provider charges differently, and the cheapest is not always the one people will use.

How is shipping handled — Australia Post, couriers, free shipping?

Flat-rate and free-shipping rules are in every package. Standard adds advanced rules by weight, location and cart value, and Premium adds a live shipping cost calculator and order tracking. As an add-on we connect Australia Post, Sendle and the major couriers, so live rates and tracking numbers come straight from the carrier. Tell us how you ship and we set the store up that way.

Can WooCommerce connect to Xero, MYOB or my CRM?

Yes. WooCommerce connects to Xero and MYOB for invoicing and reconciliation, to Mailchimp and Klaviyo for email marketing, and to HubSpot and other CRMs, so orders flow through without re-typing. Premium includes your CRM integration; other integrations are scoped and quoted before we start.

Will my products show up in Google and AI search?

The store is built to be found. Every product and category page gets a real title, a description and structured product data — price, availability, reviews — that Google, Google Shopping and AI search engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google’s AI Overviews read directly. Pages are server-rendered, fast and organised the way shoppers search, because the keyword and category research happens before the design.

No one can guarantee a citation, but this is what those engines draw their answers from. Our ongoing SEO services carry the work on after launch.

What makes a good eCommerce website?

It loads fast, it can be searched, and it is obvious to use. Product photos that appear immediately, secure payment, product pages written with search in mind, and real customer reviews.

None of that is decoration. Each one is a reason somebody finishes the order instead of closing the tab.

Can WooCommerce handle a large catalogue or a busy sale?

Yes. WooCommerce runs stores with tens of thousands of products; the limit is the hosting rather than the platform. Our managed hosting is sized for your catalogue and your traffic, and the Cloudflare CDN and scalable cloud hosting features above are there for a Black Friday spike or a national campaign.

Can I sell digital products, subscriptions, bookings or wholesale?

Yes. WooCommerce sells physical products, downloads, subscriptions and memberships, bookings and appointments, gift cards and online courses, and a wholesale or B2B area with trade pricing and account approval can sit alongside the retail store. Tell us what you sell and we build the store around it.

Do you build eCommerce websites outside the Sunshine Coast?

Yes. DIGITALON is based at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, and we design and develop eCommerce websites for businesses in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and across Australia, from the one in-house team. The design reviews, the test orders and the training all happen online, so where you are does not change how the store gets built.

What maintenance does an online store need?

The same as any software: regular updates and checks. You always get an administrator login so you can do it yourself.

If you would rather not, our maintenance packages and managed hosting plans cover updates, backups, security and support.

How will I update my store?

Whichever way suits you.

  • Yourself. You get the admin login, an hour of one-to-one training and a platform with more tutorials written about it than any other.
  • Ask us. Tell us what you want changed and we handle it under a website support plan.
