Web design Townsville for North Queensland.
DIGITALON designs and builds WordPress websites for Townsville businesses, from childcare centres, clinics and trades in the suburbs to cafes on The Strand and suppliers to the port and the defence bases. Our designers and developers are down at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast, with a price set in writing before anything starts.
Written for people new to town.
Townsville wraps around Cleveland Bay beneath Castle Hill, with The Strand along the water, the Ross River winding through the suburbs and Magnetic Island across the bay. It is home to Lavarack Barracks, RAAF Base Townsville, James Cook University and the university hospital, and the railway from Mount Isa ends at its port.
Those institutions bring a steady flow of newcomers: defence families on posting, students, nurses and doctors, many arriving with no idea which suburb is which. A Townsville website often has to work for someone who has never heard of Kirwan or Douglas, saying plainly where you are, which side of the river you cover and how to reach you.
Where exactly are you?
Newcomers search by need first, then check the suburb, the map and the hours before they ring a business they have never heard of.
- The service and the suburb
- Directions from a landmark they know
- Hours and a quick way to call
SITE
Make the city easy.
Plain location pages, service areas named suburb by suburb and contact paths that work on a phone help a new arrival choose you over a guess.
- One page per location or service
- Suburbs and landmarks named
- Calls and forms that work in one tap
What every DIGITALON website includes.
The same Australian team designs, builds, hosts and supports the site, so nothing in the list below is quoted again later.
Designed for your business, not a theme
Every page is designed from scratch in WordPress around what you sell and who buys it. You are not picking a template and hoping your content fits it.
Built to be found
Clean structure, fast pages, sensible headings and metadata come as standard. Keyword research and on-page SEO are included from Standard, and AI search optimisation at Premium.
Readable on the phone first
Most local searches happen on a phone. Layouts, menus, forms and buttons are checked at desktop, tablet and phone widths before the site goes live.
Yours to edit
You get the admin login, a site you can update yourself and 1:1 training at Premium. If you would rather not touch it, our maintenance packages cover the updates for you.
Hosted and supported in Australia
Australian cloud hosting, SSL, nightly backups and a support team you can reach by phone or email, with no offshore help desk in between.
What a Townsville website costs.
Five pages are enough for one service in one place; a clinic, centre or trade working several suburbs usually needs ten; a business with several sites, departments or a regular news page suits twenty.

We work from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast, a long way down the coast from Townsville, and have no office in North Queensland. Everything happens by phone, email and online meetings, with drafts on a shared screen, and the person you speak to first stays with your project until launch day.
That suits a city where many people work shifts at the hospital, the bases or the port. Reviews are booked around shifts and school pick-ups, and the local detail comes from you, for example which suburbs your customers come from, what newcomers ask first and how families find you after a posting, before each page is approved.
Written for newcomers and locals alikeLocations explained
Each location page names the suburb, a nearby landmark such as Castle Hill or a river crossing, parking and opening hours.
Suburbs you really cover
If you travel to customers, the site lists the suburbs you reach on both sides of the Ross River, not the whole city.
Island details
Magnetic Island businesses can explain how guests get across, where to meet and what to book before the ferry.
Easy staff updates
Team pages, hours and notices can be edited from your own admin login when people arrive or move on after a posting.
We deliver. You celebrate.
A website build runs on a short, predictable path. Most sites take one to three weeks to a first version, then move at the pace of your feedback.
Talk it through
We ask what the business does, who you want to reach and what the website has to achieve.
Agree the plan
You get a fixed price, a page map and a content outline, with placeholders where you need them.
Design and build
We design the pages, build them in WordPress and check them at every screen size.
Review and launch
Three rounds of revisions on structure and content, then launch, training and support.

What attracted us to DIGITALON is their promise to make sites that work. They absolutely delivered on this.
Townsville web design questions.
Prices, GST, new arrivals, locations and support, for businesses across Townsville and Magnetic Island.
Ask us about your website ↗Our childcare group has three centres across Townsville. How many pages does that need?
Ten pages, the Standard package at $3,990, is the usual fit: home, about and contact, a page for each centre with its suburb, hours and parking, then programs, enrolment and fees. Keyword research and on-page SEO are part of Standard, so each centre page uses the words parents type when they search.
A single centre can launch on Essentials, five pages for $2,990; a larger group with many rooms, programs or a news page may suit Premium, twenty pages for $4,990. The full lists are on website design pricing.
We run a business on Magnetic Island. Is the price or the GST any different for us?
No. Island businesses pay the same published prices as everyone else, and GST is already inside them: $2,990, $3,990 or $4,990 in Australian dollars, with the tax shown on your invoice.
Monthly hosting and maintenance are optional, and anything beyond your package is priced in writing before we start.
We sell school uniforms. Can parents order online before term starts?
Yes. Standard, at $5,990, is the usual choice for uniforms: product categories by school, filters for size, customer accounts with order history and discount coupons, plus advanced shipping rules if you post orders. Basic, at $4,990, is a simpler six-page store with card and PayPal and one flat postage rate.
Premium, at $7,990, adds Afterpay, Apple Pay and Google Pay, live product search and order tracking. Click-and-collect from your shop isn't a package inclusion and is scoped first; hosting, domain, payment fees and maintenance are separate costs. Compare them on eCommerce pricing.
Many defence families move over the summer posting season. When should our new site be ready?
Before they start searching, so begin in spring if you can. Expect the first draft site roughly one to two weeks after we begin, longer if the site has more to do, and three rounds of revisions follow at the speed of your feedback.
That leaves time to add new photos, test the enrolment or booking forms and settle the site before the removal trucks arrive.
We don't have professional photos. Will the site still look good?
Yes. Every package includes royalty-free stock images, and good phone photos of your premises, team and work often look better than stock because they are real. Our content outline lists the photos and words each page needs, and placeholders fill any gaps until yours arrive.
If you book a photographer later, the new images can replace the placeholders without any redesign.
People new to Townsville find us on their phones before they know the suburbs. What helps them?
A location page written for a stranger: the suburb and street, a landmark they can find, such as Castle Hill, The Strand or a shopping centre, parking, opening hours and a map, plus one-tap buttons to ring you or start directions.
Phone, tablet and desktop versions are all tried before the site goes live, so the page that greets a new arrival works on whatever they are holding.
Will we show up in near-me searches across Townsville?
The website helps, but near-me results lean heavily on your Google Business Profile, which sits outside the site. Keyword research, included from Standard, shows how locals and newcomers look for what you offer, and on-page SEO names the suburbs you serve in titles, headings and descriptions to support that profile.
Premium adds AI search optimisation (GEO) for the AI assistants people now ask for local recommendations. Only Google and those tools decide what they show, so no position is promised; our SEO packages are there for ongoing work.
We moved across the river to bigger premises. Can a redesign update everything without losing our search traffic?
Yes. Our website redesign process holds on to the web addresses that already bring visitors, redirects the ones that change and updates every mention of your old address, from the contact page to the footer and the map.
The cost depends on what else changes: a straightforward refresh may fit a website package, and a larger rebuild is quoted to scope before work begins.
The staff member who updated our website has been posted south. Who looks after it now?
We can. Our maintenance packages cover WordPress updates, security, backups and small content changes, and our Australian WordPress hosting keeps the site on servers in Australia with SSL.
The admin login stays with your business whoever leaves, and Premium includes 1:1 website training so the next person can pick it up quickly.
How does working with a Sunshine Coast team look from Townsville?
Simple: one person on our Wurtulla team is your contact from the first call to launch, and we work by phone, email or online meeting, with drafts on a shared screen. We have no Townsville office, so calls are booked around your shifts.
Start on our contact page, and see completed work in our portfolio.
