Supplement store website design for protein, pre-workout and creatine.

Sports supplement buyers pick a flavour and tub size, read the nutrition panel and, if they compete, check the batch was tested. DIGITALON designs and builds WooCommerce stores for Australian supplement retailers from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast, with every product described in the wording its category allows.

Powder or capsule can change the rules.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) says a sports supplement is either a food or a therapeutic good, never both, and its form, ingredients and claims decide which. A whey powder is generally a food; a capsule making a performance claim is a medicine that must be on the TGA's register. Buyers, meanwhile, compare flavours, serves and protein per serve before choosing a tub.

In the stores we build, each flavour and tub size is a variation with its own stock, and the nutrition panel, ingredients and directions are typed exactly as the supplier prints them. Sport-testing marks appear only for the batches they cover, heavy tubs are priced by weight and stacks are grouped products. Descriptions stay in the wording each category permits; we give no health or regulatory advice.

What a supplement store website needs.

Flavours multiply, labels differ by category and full tubs are heavy, so these six points are agreed with you and your suppliers at scoping, before any design work.

Every flavour and tub size stocked separately

A whey protein in four flavours, as a 1 kg pouch and 2 kg and 5 kg tubs, is one product with twelve variations, each with its own price, SKU, weight, stock and photo. Each size can show its number of serves from the label; a price per serve beside it is quoted.

The nutrition panel, word for word

The nutrition panel, per serve and per 100 g, plus the ingredients, allergen statement and directions are typed exactly as printed, beside label photos. Sports foods also carry required statements, including that they are not suitable for children under 15 years of age or pregnant women, which go on the page in the supplier's words.

Food or medicine, worded for its category

Foods may make only the health claims the Food Standards Code allows, and the TGA gives gaining muscle, losing fat and recovering from a workout as examples of therapeutic claims. Medicines carry an AUST L or AUST R number and keep to their indications, as our vitamin store page explains. We add no claims.

Sport-testing shown only where it applies

A HASTA or Informed Sport mark appears only on products the certifier lists, beside the batch numbers it covers, so athletes can check them in Sport Integrity Australia's app or the certifier's search. The agency says no supplement is 100% safe for an athlete, so no page promises a clean test.

Batch numbers and best-before dates

Certification covers named batches, and athletes are told to record the batch they take, so the page shows the batch number and best-before date you are sending now, updated as stock turns over. Recording which batch went in each order is quoted, as WooCommerce tracks stock, not batches.

Heavy tubs priced by weight

Each variation stores its weight and box size, so Standard's advanced shipping rules can charge heavy tubs by weight or zone. Australia Post prices parcels in your own packaging by actual or cubic weight, whichever is greater, up to 22 kg, so a big order may need two parcels.

eCommerce packages for supplement stores.

Three one-off build prices. Filters for flavour, size and brand, customer accounts for repeat buyers and weight-based shipping rules point to Standard; Premium adds live search, product compare and a shipping cost calculator for heavy orders.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.

Your store, your hosting, your login.

Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.

The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.

01

No platform commission

Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.

02

Hosting you choose

Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.

03

Care after launch

Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.

04

One Australian team

The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.

From brief to first order.

A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.

Step 01

Scope and price

We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.

Step 02

Design

You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.

Step 03

Build and test

Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.

Step 04

Launch and hand over

We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

Online stores we have built.

These are stores and online sales sites our team designed and built. They show completed work, not a promise of the same result for every business.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.

Supplement store website questions.

Flavours and stock, nutrition panels, food or medicine, batch testing, stacks, postage, price and timing.

Ask us about your store
What does a sports nutrition store cost to build, GST and all?

Each package has a one-off price in Australian dollars with GST already included: $4,990 for Basic with 6 website pages, $5,990 for Standard with 10, or $7,990 for Premium with 20. Showing a price per serve, stacks at one combined price, batch records per order, product imports and moving an existing store are quoted before work starts.

Every inclusion is on our eCommerce pricing page.

Does a range of flavours and tub sizes need Standard?

Not for the variations themselves, which every package handles, but usually for finding them. Standard's product filters narrow the range by flavour, size, brand or product type, and it adds customer accounts with order history, discount coupons, advanced shipping rules and keyword research with on-page SEO. Categories are named by product type, not results such as muscle gain, a TGA example of a therapeutic claim.

Can chocolate 1 kg sell out while vanilla 2 kg stays in stock?

Yes. Every flavour-and-size combination keeps its own stock count, so a sold-out one shows as unavailable while the others keep selling, all standard in WooCommerce. Low-stock alerts can tell your team when a popular flavour runs down; alerts for shoppers when it is back, and pre-orders for a delayed shipment, are quoted extensions.

Does each flavour need its own nutrition panel on the page?

When the supplier prints one per flavour, yes. Each variation can carry its own panel photo and typed figures, shown when that flavour is chosen, so nobody reads the vanilla panel while buying chocolate. You own the store, so your team can update a panel when a recipe changes, or our Advanced and Premium maintenance packages can.

How do we tell whether a product is a sports food or a medicine?

Your supplier should know, and the label shows it: a medicine carries an AUST L or AUST R number. The TGA counts a supplement making a performance claim as a medicine if it is a tablet, capsule or pill or contains a restricted ingredient, while whey powders, bars and drinks are generally foods. A label disclaimer such as ‘not a therapeutic good’ changes nothing, the TGA says.

Can we show that a product is batch-tested for sport?

Yes, on products the certifier lists, in its own wording and with its search linked. Phrases such as ‘banned-substance free’ stay off the page: HASTA says no testing can guarantee a batch is completely free from contamination, and that its testing covers substances prohibited by WADA, not ingredient, nutrition or performance claims.

How do customers pay, and how are heavy tubs delivered?

Cards and PayPal come with every package, and Premium adds Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay, each under its provider's own conditions, which we check against your range first. Heavy tubs ship by weight under Standard's advanced shipping rules, a free-delivery threshold can absorb postage on bigger orders, and live Australia Post, Sendle or courier rates are a quoted add-on.

Can we sell a protein, creatine and pre-workout stack?

Yes, as a grouped product: one page lists each item with its own price, and the shopper adds the ones they want. Items with flavours or sizes link to their own page to choose them, as standard WooCommerce does; a stack sold at one combined price, with choices made in one place, is a quoted bundle extension. Stack names follow the same wording rules as the products.

How quickly can the full flavour range be loaded?

The import is fast; gathering the data is the slow part. A supplier file with each variation's SKU, flavour, size, weight, price and label text goes in through WooCommerce's CSV importer, and loading a large range is quoted. A basic store usually takes two to three weeks, and opening with your best sellers first keeps a big range from holding up launch.

Can our store be found by people buying supplements online?

It can, though no one can promise a position. Standard and Premium include keyword and category research and on-page work, so pages use the brands, product types and flavours people search for, and Premium adds AI search optimisation (GEO). Search titles describe what is in the tub, not results such as fat loss, and ongoing SEO is a separate service.

Line up your range, flavour by flavour.

Tell us which brands and product types you carry, how many flavours and tub sizes, which lines are batch-tested for sport and what a typical order weighs. From Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast, our team will plan the variations, wording and shipping with you, then confirm the package and price in writing before work starts.
