Furniture store website design from swatch to doorstep.

Furniture buyers often measure the room, compare fabrics and finishes, and want the freight, lead time and assembly clear before they pay. From Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast, DIGITALON designs and builds WooCommerce stores for furniture retailers across Australia, with freight zones and delivery choices settled first.

A sofa must fit through the door.

Furniture is bought for a particular room. Before ordering, a shopper often wants to know whether the piece fits the space and will get through the door, how the fabric or timber will look at home, how long a made-to-order piece takes and what delivery to their postcode costs. The product page has to answer all of that, or point them to your showroom to see it in person.

Our job is to put those answers on the page. Overall dimensions, seat height and packed size are listed on every product, fabrics and finishes are variations with their own photos and prices, and fabric samples can be ordered like any other product. Freight is priced by delivery zone with choices such as kerbside or assembly, lead times show on made-to-order pieces, and the showroom has a page of its own.

What a furniture store website needs.

A furniture sale turns on measurements, materials and delivery, so we plan all three before a page is drawn.

Dimensions that settle room fit

Overall dimensions use WooCommerce's own dimension fields, while seat height, arm height and packed size go in as attributes. A measuring guide for doorways, hallways and stairs sits beside them, so a shopper can check the piece will get in before ordering.

Fabrics, finishes and swatches

Each fabric, timber or finish becomes a variation with its own photo, price and stock, grouped by fabric grade if your range is priced that way. Free or paid fabric samples are small products of their own, and picture swatches to click, rather than a list of names, are a quoted extension.

Made-to-order lead times, stated up front

Pieces made to order show their lead time on the product page, and stocked items can take backorders with a clear backorder notice. When a piece moves through production, a note added to the order emails the customer, so they hear from you before they need to ask.

Freight by zone, with assembly options

Sofas, beds and tables get their own shipping class, so they are charged as freight rather than as parcels. Standard's advanced rules price each delivery zone by weight and cart value and can offer kerbside, to-the-room or assembled delivery, and Premium's shipping cost calculator shows the freight before checkout.

The showroom, online and in person

A showroom page carries the address, hours and parking, and pieces on display can carry a tag so shoppers know what they can see and sit on before buying. A visit request form works on any package; booked appointment times are quoted separately.

Returns for pieces that need collecting

A sofa cannot go back in a satchel, so the returns policy matters before the sale. It shows on each product and in the cart, covering change of mind, made-to-order pieces and who pays for collection, written by you.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.

Your store, your hosting, your login.

Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.

The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.

01

No platform commission

Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.

02

Hosting you choose

Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.

03

Care after launch

Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.

04

One Australian team

The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.

From brief to first order.

A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.

Step 01

Scope and price

We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.

Step 02

Design

You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.

Step 03

Build and test

Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.

Step 04

Launch and hand over

We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

Online stores we have built.

These are stores and online sales sites our team designed and built. They show completed work, not a promise of the same result for every business.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.

Furniture store website questions.

Room fit, fabrics, lead times, freight and assembly, Afterpay, returns, price and timing.

Ask us about your store
What will a website for our furniture store cost?

A custom WooCommerce build is a one-off price in Australian dollars, GST included: $4,990 for Basic (6 pages), $5,990 for Standard (10 pages) or $7,990 for Premium (20 pages). Picture swatches, delivery-date pickers, deposits or lay-by, live carrier rates and supplier imports are quoted before work starts.

The full list of inclusions is on our eCommerce pricing page.

Is Standard or Premium the better fit for a furniture store?

Standard usually fits: shoppers can filter by room, material and colour and keep an account, freight follows zone and weight rules, and keyword research with on-page SEO is included. Premium adds Afterpay, a shipping cost calculator, product compare, a mega menu and AI search optimisation (GEO). Basic suits a small range with simple delivery; ongoing SEO after launch is separate, and no ranking is promised.

Can shoppers check a sofa will fit through the door?

Yes, if the page gives more than the overall size. The size as delivered matters for stairs, lifts and narrow hallways, and seat height and depth for comfort, so each goes in as an attribute beside WooCommerce's own dimension fields, with a measuring guide alongside. Standard's filters can narrow sofas by seat count or width, and Premium's product compare sets two sizes side by side.

Can customers order fabric samples before choosing a sofa?

Yes. Samples are small products of their own, free or paid, posted at a rate that suits a padded envelope rather than a sofa. On the sofa itself, each fabric or finish is a variation with its own photo and price, chosen from a list; a grid of picture swatches to click instead is a quoted extension.

How do we show lead times on made-to-order pieces?

On each made-to-order product, in your words, with your delivery page explaining how the time is counted. Stocked pieces can take backorders with a backorder notice, and a customer note added to the order emails progress, such as a sofa leaving the workshop. Letting shoppers pick a delivery date at checkout needs a date-picker extension, quoted to scope.

Can shoppers choose kerbside delivery or delivery with assembly?

Yes, with Standard's advanced shipping rules. Each delivery zone can offer its own choices, such as kerbside, to the room of choice or with assembly, each with its own price, and freight can rise with weight or be waived above a cart value you set. Pickup from your warehouse or showroom can sit beside them, and live carrier rates are a quoted add-on.

Can customers spread the cost of a lounge suite?

With Premium, yes. Afterpay joins Apple Pay and Google Pay at checkout, and every package already takes card and PayPal. Afterpay decides its own limits on how much a shopper can split, so a large order may need card, PayPal or bank transfer instead. Deposits and lay-by are quoted extensions, and we do not give finance advice.

How do returns work when a bulky piece has to be collected?

Your team arranges the collection under the policy you set, then refunds from the order itself: card and PayPal refunds can be full or partial, and returned pieces can go back into stock. What the policy says about change of mind and made-to-order pieces comes from you, as we do not give legal advice.

Do fabric and size options make the build take longer?

They can, depending on how many there are. Two to three weeks is usual for a basic store; a range where each sofa comes in dozens of fabrics and several sizes, a supplier import, a swatch extension or freight rules for many zones add time, and we agree the schedule with the scope and price before work starts.

Can our team update fabrics, lead times and prices after launch?

Yes. The administrator login is yours and you own the store, so staff can add fabrics, change lead times and prices and tag pieces on display, with one-to-one training in Standard and Premium. Updates, backups and security can go to our maintenance packages and managed WordPress hosting instead.

Let's measure up your furniture store.

Send us your range, the fabrics and finishes each piece comes in, your lead times and how you deliver today, from kerbside drops to assembly. DIGITALON's in-house team at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast will match the range to a package, list any quoted extras and propose a launch date, all in writing.
