Your shop already knows its customers.

If you run a physical shop, you already have the hardest parts of retail: a range, suppliers, stock and customers who trust you. Taking it online extends the business you have rather than starting a new one, so the questions are practical: which products go online first, how stock stays right in both places, who packs the orders and how locals collect them.

Hosted builders and WooCommerce can both run a shop's online store; what differs is how each fits the systems you already use. We build on WooCommerce and plan the store around your shop: the range to start with, how stock is updated, pickup and local delivery at checkout, and your opening hours and location on every page, so the website and the counter tell the same story.

Taking a physical store online, step by step.

Five decisions shape the first online store for an existing shop. This is how we handle each one with you.

Start with the right part of the range

Begin with products that sell well, ship easily and already have good photos, rather than the whole shop on day one. The online range can grow once orders and stock routines are running smoothly.

Decide how stock stays accurate

A small range can be updated by hand or in bulk from a file. Keeping stock in step with your point-of-sale system is a quoted integration, and we check what your system supports before quoting.

Pickup and local delivery at checkout

Pickup in store and delivery zones priced by suburb or distance give local customers a reason to buy from you. Rules by location, weight or cart value come with Standard.

A packing and notification routine

Decide who checks new orders, packs them and marks them ready for pickup. Order emails plus the PDF invoices and packing slips included from Standard keep the routine simple for staff.

The shop and the website, one story

Opening hours, location, parking and contact details shown on the website and kept current, with prices and promotions aligned to the counter wherever you want them to match.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.

Your store, your hosting, your login.

Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.

The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.

01

No platform commission

Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.

02

Hosting you choose

Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.

03

Care after launch

Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.

04

One Australian team

The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.

From brief to first order.

A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.

Step 01

Scope and price

We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.

Step 02

Design

You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.

Step 03

Build and test

Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.

Step 04

Launch and hand over

We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

Online stores we have built.

These are stores and online sales sites our team designed and built. They show completed work, not a promise of the same result for every business.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.

Questions from shops going online.

Starting range, stock, pickup and delivery, staff, price and timing.

Ask us about your store
What does it cost to take our shop online?

A custom WooCommerce store costs $4,990 for Basic (6 pages), $5,990 for Standard (10 pages) or $7,990 for Premium (20 pages), as a one-off build price. A point-of-sale integration, product imports and other custom work are quoted before work starts.

Every inclusion is on our eCommerce pricing page.

Is GST included when we take our shop online?

Yes. The build prices are in Australian dollars and include GST, which appears on your invoice. Hosting, your domain and your payment provider's fees are separate.

Do we have to put our whole range online?

No. Many shops start with their best-selling, easy-to-ship products and add more once the routine is working. Catalogue size and who loads the products are agreed before we quote, and the 6, 10 and 20 page counts are website pages, not a product limit.

How do we keep stock right in the shop and online?

For a small range, update stock by hand or in bulk from a file. For a larger or faster-moving range, a quoted integration can keep the website in step with your point-of-sale system; we confirm what your system supports before quoting.

Can we offer local delivery as well as pickup?

Yes. Pickup in store and local delivery can both be offered at checkout, with delivery priced by zone, weight or cart value using Standard's advanced shipping rules. Live courier rates for orders further away are a quoted add-on.

Which builder suits a shop that already has a till system?

The one that fits your till and stock routine. Some hosted builders sell their own point-of-sale systems; WooCommerce connects to many existing systems through integrations, which we scope and quote after checking what yours supports. We build on WooCommerce only, and will tell you if a hosted option suits your setup better.

Which package suits a shop going online?

Standard suits most shops: ten pages, product filters and categories, customer accounts, advanced shipping rules for pickup and delivery zones, PDF invoices and packing slips, and keyword research with on-page SEO. Premium adds live search, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay, order tracking and AI search optimisation (GEO). Basic suits a small starter range.

Will our staff need training to handle online orders?

Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store, covering orders, stock and products. You keep the administrator login, and our maintenance packages can handle updates, backups and security if you would rather not.

How long before our shop can take online orders?

A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Photographing products, a point-of-sale integration or a large range add time, and we agree the schedule with the scope and price before work starts.

Can the website help locals find the physical shop?

Yes. Your location, opening hours and contact details sit on the website for people and search engines to read. Standard and Premium include keyword and category research with on-page SEO, and Premium adds AI search optimisation (GEO); no one can promise a ranking. Managed WordPress hosting is available if you want one team for both.
