Best retail website designs change with the season.

A retail website has to keep pace with new ranges, sales and gift seasons, just as the shop floor does. DIGITALON designs custom WooCommerce stores for Australian retailers from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast, built so your team can change what leads the store without a developer.

Retail never stands still.

Shop windows change for new season stock, school holidays, end-of-financial-year sales and the run to Christmas. A retail website that cannot change as easily ends up promoting last month's range or a sale that has finished. The best retail website designs are built for that rhythm, with sections your own staff can rearrange, swap and switch off as the calendar moves.

We design retail stores around merchandising rather than a fixed layout. Collections and categories can be promoted and retired, sale prices scheduled, featured products changed from the dashboard and gift ideas grouped for the season. Store details such as opening hours, locations and click and collect stay accurate, so online and in-store shoppers get the same story.

What retail website design needs.

Merchandising is the job; the website is the newest window. These are the retail features we plan with you before the design.

Collections that rotate

New arrivals, seasonal ranges and gift guides set up as collections your team can promote on the home page and retire when the season ends. Product categories come with Standard.

Sales and promotions

Sale prices scheduled to start and finish on time, discount coupons from Standard, and rule-based offers such as spend-and-save quoted as an add-on. A sale announcement strip that switches off when the sale ends is a quoted add-on.

Gift cards and gifting

Gift cards suit many retailers and are added as a quoted extension. Gift guides and bundles group products by price or recipient for the busy seasons.

Store information online

Opening hours, locations and parking or access notes kept on the website as easily as they change in store, so a shopper checking before a visit finds the right answer.

Click and collect, and delivery

Pickup in store offered alongside delivery at checkout, with flat-rate or free shipping in every package and rules by location, weight or cart value from Standard.

Best sellers and featured products

A home page that leads with what is selling or newly arrived. Curated best-selling, recent and featured sections are a quoted add-on where the default home page layout is not enough.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.

Your store, your hosting, your login.

Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.

The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.

01

No platform commission

Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.

02

Hosting you choose

Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.

03

Care after launch

Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.

04

One Australian team

The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.

From brief to first order.

A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.

Step 01

Scope and price

We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.

Step 02

Design

You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.

Step 03

Build and test

Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.

Step 04

Launch and hand over

We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

Online stores we have built.

These are stores and online sales sites our team designed and built. They show completed work, not a promise of the same result for every business.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.

Retail website questions.

Seasonal changes, sales, gift cards, pickup, price and running the store.

Ask us about your store
How much does a retail website cost?

A custom WooCommerce store costs $4,990 for Basic (6 pages), $5,990 for Standard (10 pages) or $7,990 for Premium (20 pages), as a one-off build price. Gift cards, rule-based promotions, product imports and point-of-sale connections are quoted before work starts.

Every inclusion is on our eCommerce pricing page.

Is GST included in retail website prices?

Yes. All three build prices are in Australian dollars and include GST, itemised on your invoice. Hosting, your domain and payment provider fees are separate.

Can our staff change featured products for each season?

Yes, when the home page is planned that way. At scoping we agree which sections your team will change each season, such as featured products and collections, and set them up to be edited from the dashboard. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

Can sale prices start and finish automatically?

Yes. WooCommerce can schedule a sale price to start and end on set dates, so a sale is not left running by mistake. Discount coupons come with Standard, and rule-based offers such as spend-and-save are a quoted add-on.

Can we sell gift cards online?

Yes, as a quoted extension. Gift cards can be bought online and redeemed at checkout; whether they also work in store depends on your point-of-sale system, which we check before quoting.

Which package suits a retail business?

Standard suits most retailers: product categories and filters, customer accounts, coupons, advanced shipping rules and keyword research with on-page SEO. Premium adds a blog for seasonal content, a mega menu, live product search, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay, order tracking and AI search optimisation (GEO). Basic suits a small range.

Can customers order online and pick up in store?

Yes. Pickup in store can sit alongside delivery at checkout. Flat-rate or free shipping comes with every package, Standard adds rules by location, weight and cart value, and live courier rates are a quoted add-on.

Can website stock levels match the shop's system?

Often, through a quoted integration with your point-of-sale or inventory system; we confirm what your system supports before quoting. Without one, stock can be updated in bulk from a file.

How long does a retail website take to build?

A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. A large range, gift cards or a point-of-sale connection add time, so allow for it before a key season, and we agree the schedule with the scope and price.

Can you move our current retail store to WooCommerce?

Yes, after we assess it and quote the move. Products, categories, customers and order history come across from Shopify, Wix, Squarespace or older WordPress, ranking addresses are kept or redirected, and the old store stays live until the new one is tested. Our maintenance packages can look after it from there.

Let's plan your retail store online.

Tell us about your ranges, your busiest seasons and how you run sales and pickups today. DIGITALON's in-house team at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast will recommend a package, flag anything that needs a separate quote and confirm a fixed price before work starts, wherever you trade in Australia.
