Custom eCommerce websites built around your rules.
Every DIGITALON store has a custom design, but some businesses also need the store to do something no theme or plugin does out of the box. We scope those features with you, quote them in writing and build them into a WooCommerce store you own.
Two kinds of custom.
A custom eCommerce website can mean two different things. The first is a design made for your products and brand rather than a bought template, and that comes with every DIGITALON package. The second is custom functionality: a product builder, a price calculator, an ordering rule or a connection to another system that WooCommerce and its extensions do not already provide. That second kind is where scope, time and cost need care.
Before anything is coded we check whether an existing, well-supported extension already does the job, because that is usually quicker to build and easier to maintain. Where nothing fits, we write down exactly what the feature must do, quote it and agree how it will be tested, so you approve the scope and the price before development starts.
It must work our way.
The need is usually one rule or tool that standard stores lack.
- A product built to order
- A price worked out from sizes
- A link to the systems we use
STORE
Scoped, quoted, testable.
A custom feature is only as good as its written specification.
- Existing extensions checked first
- Behaviour written down and priced
- Tested with real orders
Custom features we scope and quote.
These are the common requests that go beyond a standard store. Each is scoped against your products and systems and priced before work starts.
Product builders and configurators
A step-by-step builder lets buyers choose each part of a product, such as a frame, fabric and finish, with the price updating as they go. Simple choices can use standard variations; full builders are custom work.
Price calculators by size or quantity
Products priced by area, length or quantity, such as blinds, signage, fabric or printing, need a calculator that turns the buyer's measurements into a price and passes them to the order. These are quoted to your pricing rules.
Checkout and ordering rules
Minimum order values, delivery date selection, extra fields for business details, or rules that limit which products ship where. Some need a small extension and others custom code; either way it is confirmed in the quote.
Connections to your other systems
Orders into Xero or MYOB, customers into your CRM, stock from an inventory or point-of-sale system. Premium includes your CRM integration within the agreed scope; other connections depend on what each system allows and are quoted after we check it.
Reports and exports for your team
Custom order exports for a warehouse, sales reports in the format your accountant wants, or a production list for made-to-order items, built on WooCommerce's order data so your team stops copying it by hand.
Built to stay updatable
Custom features should sit alongside WooCommerce, not inside its core files, and be documented, so WordPress, WooCommerce and extensions can still be updated safely after launch.
Packages that custom work builds on.
Every package starts with a custom design on WooCommerce. Custom features are quoted on top of the package that suits the rest of your store.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.
Your store, your hosting, your login.
Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.
The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.
No platform commission
Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.
Hosting you choose
Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.
Care after launch
Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.
One Australian team
The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.
From brief to first order.
A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.
Scope and price
We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.
Design
You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.
Build and test
Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.
Launch and hand over
We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.
Custom eCommerce website questions.
What is custom, what is quoted, how it is scoped, price and upkeep.
Ask us about your store ↗How much does a custom eCommerce website cost?
The store itself is a one-off $4,990 for Basic (6 pages), $5,990 for Standard (10 pages) or $7,990 for Premium (20 pages), each with a custom design. Custom features such as builders, calculators, special ordering rules or integrations are quoted separately once we know exactly what they must do.
Our eCommerce pricing page lists what each package already includes.
Does the custom store price include GST?
Yes. The package prices are in Australian dollars and include GST, itemised on your invoice, and any custom work is priced in writing for your approval before it is added. Hosting, your domain and payment provider fees are separate.
What is already custom in every package?
The design. Every store is designed for your products and brand rather than built from a bought template, and you see and sign off the design before the build. What varies is functionality: standard features come with the package, and anything beyond it is quoted.
How do you decide between an extension and custom code?
We check first whether a well-supported extension already does what you need, because it is usually quicker to set up and easier to update. If nothing fits, or an extension would need heavy changes, custom code is written to a specification and quoted before development starts.
Can you build a product configurator for our range?
Yes, as custom work. We map the choices, the rules between them and how each affects the price, then quote the builder. Where the choices are simple, standard variations may do the job for much less, and we will tell you if so.
Can the store calculate a price from the customer's measurements?
Yes. A calculator can price products by area, length or quantity, such as blinds, signage or fabric, and pass the measurements through to the order. It is quoted to your pricing rules after we have seen how you price today.
What do you need to know before quoting an integration?
Which system it is, what it allows other software to do, which data must move, in which direction and how often. We check the system's options first; Premium includes your CRM integration within the agreed scope, and other connections are quoted once the details are clear.
Which package should custom work be added to?
The one that suits the rest of the store. Basic covers a straightforward shop; Standard adds customer accounts, filters, advanced shipping rules, PDF invoices and SEO; Premium adds Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay, live search, order tracking, CRM integration and AI search optimisation (GEO). Custom features are quoted on top of any of them.
Does custom development add time to the build?
Yes. A basic store usually takes two to three weeks, and each custom feature adds time for building and testing. We agree the full schedule with the scope and price, so the launch date accounts for it from the start.
Who maintains custom features after launch?
You own the store, custom features included, and hold the administrator login. Custom features need checking when WordPress, WooCommerce or extensions update, so our maintenance packages on managed WordPress hosting are a sensible way to keep them working; fixes outside a plan are quoted first.
Let's scope your custom feature.
Describe what the store must do that a standard store cannot, with an example order if you have one. We will check for a suitable extension first, write down what custom work would involve and confirm the price before anything is built, from our team at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.
