Develop an eCommerce website that holds up.

A store that looks finished on launch day can still be slow, fragile or hard to update a year later. DIGITALON develops WooCommerce stores for Australian businesses with speed, security and upkeep planned from the start, for a one-off price set in writing.

Launch day is the easy test.

Development decides how a store behaves after launch: how quickly a category page loads on a phone over mobile data, what happens when a plugin update arrives, whether checkout still works after a change, and how long it takes to add a product. A store assembled from a bought theme and a stack of plugins can pass the launch-day look and still struggle with these later tests.

We develop each store for the products it sells: a custom design rather than a bought template, only the extensions the scope needs, product photos compressed and served as WebP or AVIF, a WordFence firewall tuned to the store and SSL on every page. Every payment method and shipping rule is tried with real orders before launch, and the store is handed over with a clear path for updates.

What careful eCommerce development covers.

These are the engineering decisions we make on every store, whichever package it is.

Speed on a phone first

Designs start at phone width, product photos are compressed automatically and served as WebP or AVIF, and only the extensions the store needs are installed. Hosting sized for your catalogue and traffic does the rest; ours runs on Australian servers.

Security set up, not switched on

WordFence is installed and tuned to the store, every page runs on SSL, security monitoring is set up, and card details go into Stripe or PayPal fields rather than being stored in your website. Staff can have their own logins with only the access they need.

Product data built to be read

Categories, attributes and variations are structured before products go in, so filters, stock and search behave. WooCommerce publishes product details in a form search engines can read, and Premium adds AI search optimisation (GEO) for AI search tools.

Extensions chosen with care

Every plugin adds updates to manage, so WooCommerce's own features come first and extensions are added only where the scope needs them. Licences for the agreed build are included, and any optional extension or renewal cost is set out in your quote.

An update path after launch

WordPress, WooCommerce and plugins release updates for bugs, compatibility and security. You can apply them yourself with the administrator login, or our maintenance packages cover core, theme and plugin updates, nightly backups and 24/7 monitoring.

Development packages for your store.

Three one-off prices for the same careful development. The package decides how many pages and features are built in, never how carefully they are built.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.

Your store, your hosting, your login.

Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.

The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.

01

No platform commission

Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.

02

Hosting you choose

Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.

03

Care after launch

Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.

04

One Australian team

The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.

From brief to first order.

A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.

Step 01

Scope and price

We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.

Step 02

Design

You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.

Step 03

Build and test

Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.

Step 04

Launch and hand over

We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

Online stores we have built.

These are stores and online sales sites our team designed and built. They show completed work, not a promise of the same result for every business.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.

eCommerce development questions.

Speed, security, extensions, updates, custom work, price and timing.

Ask us about your store
How much does it cost to develop an eCommerce website?

$4,990 for Basic (6 pages), $5,990 for Standard (10 pages) or $7,990 for Premium (20 pages), each a one-off price for the design and development of a custom WooCommerce store. Integrations, large imports and custom features outside the package are quoted before development starts.

See what each package includes on our eCommerce pricing page.

Are your eCommerce development prices GST-inclusive?

Yes. They are in Australian dollars and include GST, shown separately on your invoice. Hosting, your domain and payment provider fees are not part of the development price.

How do you keep an online store fast?

By keeping it light from the start: designs begin at phone width, product photos are compressed automatically and served as WebP or AVIF, and only the extensions the scope needs are installed. Hosting matters too, so it should suit your catalogue and traffic; our managed WordPress hosting runs on Australian servers.

Do you store customers' card details on the website?

No. Card payments go through Stripe or PayPal, so card details are entered into the payment provider's own secure fields rather than kept in your store. Every page runs on SSL, and the WordFence firewall is tuned to the store.

How many plugins will our store need?

As few as the scope allows. WooCommerce handles products, the cart, checkout, tax and basic shipping itself; extensions are added for features such as advanced shipping rules, PDF invoices or live search when your package or quote includes them. Licences for the agreed build are included, and optional renewals are listed in the quote.

What happens when WordPress or WooCommerce releases an update?

Updates fix bugs, compatibility issues and known security weaknesses, so they should be applied promptly, after a backup. You can do it yourself with the administrator login, or our maintenance packages cover WordPress, theme and plugin updates with nightly backups and 24/7 monitoring.

Can you develop features WooCommerce does not have?

Yes, as quoted work. Wholesale pricing, subscriptions, product builders, accounting connections and other custom features are scoped against your systems and priced before development starts, and Premium includes your CRM integration within the agreed scope. Our custom eCommerce website page explains how custom work is scoped.

Which search work is part of development?

From Standard, keyword and category research and on-page SEO are part of the build, so the categories and page wording follow what customers search for; Premium adds AI search optimisation (GEO). Fast pages and clean product data help too. Ongoing SEO after launch is a separate service, and no ranking or AI citation can be promised.

Does careful development make the store take longer?

Not for a basic store, which usually takes two to three weeks. Integrations, large imports and custom features add time, and we tell you how much at scoping rather than partway through.

Which package suits a store that needs to grow?

Standard suits most growing stores: ten pages, SEO, customer accounts, product filters, PDF invoices and packing slips, and advanced shipping rules. Premium adds AI search optimisation (GEO), Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay, live search, product compare and CRM integration. Basic suits a small, simple range, and features can be added later as quoted work.

Let's develop a store that lasts.

Tell us what you sell, which systems the store must work with and who will run it after launch. Our developers at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast will recommend a package, list any custom work separately and confirm the price, schedule and payment stages in writing.
