Best web design for eCommerce is designed for buying.
Good store design is measured in finished orders, not compliments. DIGITALON designs custom WooCommerce stores from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast, shaping navigation, product pages and checkout around how your customers decide and pay.
Pretty stores still lose sales.
Most stores that disappoint do not look bad. They lose shoppers in quieter ways: a menu that hides the main range, a product page where the price and the add-to-cart button sit below a large slider on a phone, a checkout that asks for an account before payment, or text too pale to read outdoors. Each one costs orders without ever showing up as a design complaint.
We design the other way round. The page structure starts from what a shopper needs at each step: find the right category, compare options, trust the store, then pay. The look follows your brand, but the layout is decided by those steps, checked at phone width first and tested with real orders before launch. That is what we mean by the best web design for eCommerce.
Easy, or not at all.
Shoppers rarely say why they left; the design usually knows.
- Find the range in one tap
- See price and options together
- Pay without making an account
STORE
Every page has one next step.
Layout, hierarchy and buttons point each page toward the next decision.
- Clear category navigation
- Add to cart within thumb reach
- A short, honest checkout
Design decisions that turn visits into orders.
These are the layout and interface choices we make on every store, and why each one matters to the order count.
Navigation built from your range
Main categories visible from the first screen, named the way customers describe them, with a mega menu at Premium when the range is wide. A shopper should reach any category in one or two moves.
Product pages in decision order
Photos, name, price, options and the add-to-cart button grouped together, then the details that settle doubts: sizing, materials, delivery and returns. On a phone the button stays within thumb reach.
Trust where the doubt appears
Delivery cost and timing near the price, returns terms beside the button, reviews on the product and contact details in the footer. Reassurance works best at the moment a shopper hesitates, not on a separate page.
A checkout with nothing extra
Guest checkout, the fewest fields that will do, the delivery cost shown before payment and the payment methods your customers already use. Every step removed from the checkout is one reason fewer to leave.
Readable and accessible by default
Text with enough contrast to read outdoors, buttons large enough to tap, keyboard focus that shows, and images with alt text. Accessible design is easier for everyone, including people on small screens.
Fast enough not to notice
Compressed images, a lean build and hosting sized for the store keep pages quick on mobile data. Speed is a design choice: every slider, video and font is weighed against the time it adds.
eCommerce packages, designed the same way.
The design approach is the same in all three; what grows is the number of pages and the shopping features built in.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.
Your store, your hosting, your login.
Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.
The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.
No platform commission
Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.
Hosting you choose
Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.
Care after launch
Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.
One Australian team
The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.
From brief to first order.
A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.
Scope and price
We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.
Design
You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.
Build and test
Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.
Launch and hand over
We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.
eCommerce web design questions.
Templates, layout, phones, checkout, price, timing and redesigns.
Ask us about your store ↗What does a custom-designed eCommerce store cost?
A custom WooCommerce store costs $4,990 for Basic (6 pages), $5,990 for Standard (10 pages) or $7,990 for Premium (20 pages), as a one-off build price. Product imports, custom features and integrations outside the package are quoted before design starts.
Every inclusion is on our eCommerce pricing page.
Are the eCommerce design prices inclusive of GST?
Yes. All three build prices are in Australian dollars and include GST, which is itemised on your invoice. Hosting, your domain and your payment provider's fees are separate.
Do you design from scratch or use a template?
Every DIGITALON store is designed for the business rather than assembled from a bought template. The design is built on WordPress and WooCommerce, so after launch you can edit products, prices and words yourself.
How does the package choice change the design?
It changes the scope, not the care. Basic is a six-page shop; Standard has ten pages with product filters, customer accounts and keyword research with on-page SEO; Premium has twenty pages with a mega menu, live product search, product compare, a blog and AI search optimisation (GEO). The design approach is the same in all three.
How do you decide the layout of a product page?
From the questions customers ask and the order they ask them. Photos, price, options and the add-to-cart button come first; sizing, materials, delivery and returns follow, so a shopper can decide without leaving the page.
Will the store design work on phones as well as desktops?
Yes. We design at phone width first, then scale the layout up, and check every page on phones, tablets and desktops before launch, including real test orders through each payment method.
Can good design make checkout shorter?
Yes. Guest checkout, fewer fields and the delivery cost shown before payment all remove reasons to leave. Every package takes cards through Stripe and PayPal, Premium adds Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay, and flat-rate or free shipping comes with every store.
How long do design and build take for a store?
A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. The design is signed off before the build begins, and your content, feedback and any extra features set the rest of the schedule, which we agree with the scope and price.
Does design affect how a store ranks?
Indirectly. A clear structure, readable pages and fast loading help search engines and AI answer engines understand a store. Standard and Premium include keyword and category research with on-page SEO, and Premium adds AI search optimisation (GEO); no one can promise a ranking or an AI citation.
Can we redesign our existing store with you?
Yes. We review the current store first, then quote a redesign or a move to WooCommerce, carrying products, customers and order history across and keeping or redirecting addresses that already rank. After launch, our maintenance packages can keep the store updated.
Let's design a store that sells.
Show us your current store or describe the one you want, and tell us how your customers usually buy. DIGITALON's in-house team at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast will suggest the structure, recommend the package and confirm a fixed price before any design work starts, for businesses across Australia.
