Build an eCommerce website one stage at a time.
A good build is a series of decisions made in the right order, each signed off before the next begins. DIGITALON builds WooCommerce stores this way for businesses across Australia, with the price and the payment stages agreed in writing first.
Builds slip when decisions come late.
Building an eCommerce website is not one long job; it is a sequence. The pages, catalogue and features are agreed, then the design, then products, payments, shipping and tax are set up, then everything is tested with real orders. When a decision arrives late, such as a new shipping rule after checkout has been built, work that was finished has to be done again.
So every build runs in the same order, and at each stage we tell you what we need from you. You approve the scope and price in writing, sign off the design before the build starts, supply products and policy wording while we build, and try the store yourself before launch. A basic store usually takes two to three weeks when content and feedback arrive on time.
How long, and what is my part?
A clear sequence answers both before any work starts.
- What happens at each stage
- What we need from you, and when
- When the store can go live
STORE
Approved, built, then tested.
Each stage ends with something you can see and approve.
- Scope and price in writing
- A design you sign off
- Test orders before launch
Your part at each stage.
The process further down this page shows our side of each stage. This is your side: what we need from you, and when, so the build keeps moving.
Before scoping: a rough list
Bring the products or categories you will sell, roughly how many, how you will ship and any systems the store must work with. A rough list is enough; we turn it into a written scope, price and set of payment stages.
At design: one clear sign-off
Review the design at phone and desktop width and gather everyone's comments into one reply. Signing off before the build starts keeps the price and the schedule steady, because layout changes after it mean rework.
During the build: content and accounts
Supply product details, photos and prices, your delivery, returns and privacy wording, and access to your Stripe and PayPal accounts. Content that arrives on time keeps a basic store on its two to three week schedule.
Before launch: your own test order
We test every payment method and shipping rule with real orders on a phone and a desktop, then you place your own. It is the moment to check prices, order emails and wording, while changes are still quick.
After launch: decide who runs it
Decide who adds products and processes orders, and whether updates, backups and security stay with you or move to a maintenance plan. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training for whoever will run the store.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.
Your store, your hosting, your login.
Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.
The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.
No platform commission
Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.
Hosting you choose
Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.
Care after launch
Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.
One Australian team
The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.
From brief to first order.
A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.
Scope and price
We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.
Design
You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.
Build and test
Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.
Launch and hand over
We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.
eCommerce build questions.
Cost, your part, changes, payment stages, testing and launch day.
Ask us about your store ↗What does it cost to build an eCommerce website with DIGITALON?
A custom WooCommerce build costs $4,990 for Basic (6 pages), $5,990 for Standard (10 pages) or $7,990 for Premium (20 pages). Each is a fixed, one-off price for the design and build; product imports, migrations and custom integrations are quoted before work starts.
The full inclusion list for each package is on our eCommerce pricing page.
Is GST already counted in the build price?
Yes. The build prices are in Australian dollars and include GST, which is itemised on your invoice. Hosting, your domain, payment provider fees and ongoing maintenance are budgeted separately.
What do we need to do while the store is being built?
Three things: sign off the design, supply your product details, photos, prices and policy wording, and give us access to the payment accounts the store will use. We tell you at each stage exactly what is needed and by when.
What happens if we want to add something halfway through?
We price it for your approval before adding it. Work outside the agreed package is never added silently: you decide whether it goes in now, waits until after launch or is left out. A change after the design is signed off can also move the launch date, and we tell you by how much.
How is payment for the build staged?
The deposit and the payment stages are set out in your written quote before the project starts, so you know what is due and when. Nothing outside the agreed scope is charged unless you have approved its price first.
Can we place a test order before the store goes live?
Yes, and we ask you to. We first test every payment method and shipping rule with real orders on a phone and a desktop, then you order as a customer would and check the confirmation email, the stock change and the wording. Nothing goes live until both tests pass.
What usually makes an eCommerce build take longer?
Content or feedback that arrives late, a large catalogue, imported product data, a migration or a custom integration. A basic store usually takes two to three weeks, and we agree the full schedule with the scope and price, so you know the launch date before work starts.
Which package should our build start from?
Start from the features your customers need, not the largest package. Basic covers a straightforward shop with card and PayPal payments and simple shipping; Standard adds keyword research and on-page SEO, customer accounts, product filters and advanced shipping rules; Premium adds AI search optimisation (GEO), Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay, live search and order tracking.
Is search optimisation done during the build or afterwards?
During it, from Standard. Keyword and category research happens at scoping, before the design, so the categories and page wording are built around what customers search for, and Premium adds AI search optimisation (GEO). Ongoing SEO after launch is a separate service, and no one can promise a ranking.
What do we receive on launch day?
The live store, its administrator login and ownership of everything in it, with one-to-one training on your own store in Standard and Premium. Updates, backups and security can then stay with you, or move to our maintenance packages on managed WordPress hosting.
Let's map your build.
Send us a rough list of what you sell, how you ship and when you would like to launch. We will turn it into a written scope with the package, any quoted extras, the payment stages and a realistic schedule, from our team at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.
