Gift shop website design built for giving.
Gift buyers usually want the parcel at someone else's door on time, with a message, maybe wrapping and no price inside. DIGITALON's team at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast designs and builds WooCommerce stores for gift shops across Australia, pricing any extensions before work starts.
The buyer is not the recipient.
Every gift order involves two people. The buyer chooses and pays, often close to the day, for delivery to an address that is not theirs. The recipient opens the parcel and should find a message and perhaps wrapping, but not the price. If the size or colour is wrong, the person who wants to swap it is not the person who paid.
We set the store up for both of them. The checkout sends the parcel to the recipient while order emails go to the buyer, a message and wrapping can be added on the way, and from Standard, packing slips list the contents without prices. Order-by dates show before each occasion, gift guides sort the range by recipient and budget, and your returns policy covers gifts that come back.
Will it arrive in time?
The buyer is often shopping close to the day, for someone at another address.
- The last day to order for the occasion
- A message, and wrapping if they want it
- Delivery straight to the recipient

Keep the surprise intact.
The parcel, the message and the paperwork each have to reach the right person.
- Ship to a different address at checkout
- Packing slips that leave out prices
- Exchanges for the person who received it
What a gift shop website needs.
Every gift order has a buyer and a recipient, so each step from checkout to returns is planned for both.
Sent to someone else's door
WooCommerce's checkout has a ship-to-a-different-address option built in, so the parcel goes to the recipient while order emails and the invoice go to the buyer. Guest checkout is built in too, for one-off buyers; sending one order to several recipients is a quoted extension.
Messages and wrapping at checkout
A short message can go in WooCommerce's order-notes field from day one, and wrapping can be sold as a small product of its own. A dedicated message box that prints on the packing slip, a choice of cards, or wrap chosen item by item is a quoted extension.
Packing slips that leave out prices
Standard's PDF packing slips are set up to list what is in the parcel without what it cost, so the recipient sees the gift, not the price. The slip carries the order number, which lets it double as a gift receipt when someone wants to swap a size or colour.
Order-by dates, personalised items first
A notice across the store, the delivery page and the products affected all show the last day to order before Christmas, Mother's Day or Valentine's Day. Engraved or named items, set up with a quoted add-ons extension, can carry an earlier date of their own, because they are made after the order.
Gift guides by recipient and budget
A guide is a category page, not a separate catalogue: tag each product by recipient, occasion and price band once, and it appears in every guide it fits. Gift cards are a quoted extension; our guide to setting up each type of product explains how they work.
Returns from the person who received it
Gifts come back from someone who never placed the order. Your returns policy, in your words, can say whether the recipient gets an exchange, store credit as a coupon code (coupons come with Standard) or a refund to the buyer, and the packing slip's order number ties the return to the sale.
eCommerce packages for gift shops.
Three one-off build prices. Shipping to the recipient and gift messages in order notes work on every package; packing slips, coupons for store credit and gift-guide filters arrive with Standard, and Afterpay and a blog for seasonal guides with Premium.

- Your CRM integrated
Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.
Your store, your hosting, your login.
Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.
The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.
No platform commission
Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.
Hosting you choose
Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.
Care after launch
Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.
One Australian team
The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.
From brief to first order.
A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.
Scope and price
We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.
Design
You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.
Build and test
Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.
Launch and hand over
We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.
Gift shop website questions.
Recipients, messages and wrapping, prices on the slip, order-by dates, returns, price and timing.
Ask us about your store ↗What should a gift shop expect to pay for its website?
Your store's one-off build price, in Australian dollars with GST included, is $4,990 on Basic (6 pages), $5,990 on Standard (10 pages) or $7,990 on Premium (20 pages). Gift wrap and message extensions, gift cards, personalisation fields and delivery-date pickers are quoted before work starts; see eCommerce pricing for every inclusion.
Is Standard enough for a gift shop, or do we need Premium?
Standard is usually enough. It brings packing slips without prices, coupons for store credit, gift-guide filters, customer accounts, a wish list and keyword research with on-page SEO. Premium adds Afterpay, Apple Pay and Google Pay, order tracking, a mega menu, a blog for seasonal guides and AI search optimisation (GEO). Nobody can promise a ranking, and SEO after launch is its own service.
Can a gift go straight to the recipient's address?
Yes. WooCommerce's checkout lets the buyer tick ship to a different address, so the parcel goes to the recipient while order emails stay with the buyer, who keeps the surprise and the receipt. Sending one order to several recipients, such as a team's Christmas gifts, is a quoted extension.
Can buyers add a message and gift wrapping?
Yes, from launch: the message goes in the order-notes field at checkout, where whoever packs the order sees it, and wrapping can be added to the cart as its own product. A message box that prints on the packing slip, a choice of cards or wrap picked for each item is a quoted extension.
Will the recipient see what the gift cost?
Not from the parcel. With Standard, the PDF packing slip that goes in the box is set up to list the contents without prices, while the price stays on the invoice and order emails, which go to the buyer. Because the slip carries the order number, it can double as a gift receipt.
How do we tell shoppers the last day to order for an occasion?
With a notice across the store, the date on your delivery page and a note on each product it affects, which your team can change each season. An express option can sit beside standard delivery at its own price, and personalised items can carry an earlier date. Choosing a delivery date at checkout is a quoted extension.
Can shoppers find gifts by recipient and budget?
Yes. Recipient, occasion and price band become categories or tags, so a page such as gifts for new parents or gifts by price is built from them, and Standard's filters let shoppers narrow any guide further. Premium adds a mega menu and a blog for seasonal guides; a quiz that suggests gifts is custom work, priced once we know the questions.
Can the person who received a gift return or swap it?
Yes, under the returns policy you set. A refund goes back to the card or PayPal account that paid, which is the buyer's, so for the recipient an exchange or store credit often works better, and store credit can be a coupon code, with coupons in Standard. You write the policy itself; we do not give legal advice.
Do gift wrap, messages and gift cards add time to the build?
Some, because each is an extension we install, set up and test with real orders. A basic store is usually ready in two to three weeks; gift wrap or message fields, gift cards, personalisation and a delivery-date picker each add to that, and we agree the schedule with the scope and price so the store can be tested before your busiest season.
Can our team update gift guides and order-by dates themselves?
Yes. The store and its administrator login are yours, so your team can change guides, the store notice, wrapping and products as each season turns, and Standard and Premium include one-to-one training. When you would rather hand the technical side over, our maintenance packages and managed WordPress hosting look after updates, backups and security.
Ready for the next gifting season?
Tell us what you sell, which occasions matter most, whether you wrap, write messages or personalise, and how returns work in your shop today. From there, DIGITALON's in-house team at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast separates what each package covers from what needs an extension, quotes the extras and puts it all in writing.
