Firearm store website design for licensed dealers.

Firearms are listed for enquiry and reservation, while optics, apparel, cleaning and storage gear can sell through the checkout. DIGITALON designs and builds WooCommerce websites for Australian firearms dealers from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast, with payment and carrier rules checked before the build.

Rules decide how each product sells.

A gun shop's website answers to three sets of rules. Firearm sales follow the licence and permit steps of your state or territory, payment providers set their own rules, some of which limit firearms, ammunition and certain parts and accessories, and carriers decide which regulated items they will carry. Shooters often research online first: they compare rifles and shotguns, check optics and safes, and want to know what is in stock before they call or visit.

We build the website around those rules. Each firearm gets a listing with photos, specifications and the price you choose to show, ending in an enquiry or reservation request for your team, and the licence and permit steps happen with you. Optics, apparel, cleaning and storage gear sell through WooCommerce where your provider accepts them, ammunition is set up around your provider's and carriers' rules, and the range and gunsmithing get pages of their own.

What a firearm store website needs.

Firearms, accessories, ammunition and services each reach the buyer a different way, so we settle which path each one takes before anything is designed.

Firearms listed for enquiry and reservation

Each firearm gets photos, the details shooters compare, such as calibre, action, barrel length, condition and licence category as your team records them, and the price you choose to show. It ends in an enquiry or reservation request instead of a cart, and staff update it once the firearm is reserved or sold.

Licence and permit steps stay with you

Your team writes the page on how buying a firearm from you works, the note on each listing and the enquiry form's questions, and decides which products stay off the checkout under your state or territory's rules. We set up where it all appears and what the form sends you; we give no legal advice.

Payment rules checked before the build

Stripe and PayPal come with every package and Premium adds Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay, but each provider sets its own rules, and some restrict firearms, ammunition and certain parts and accessories. We check your products against each provider's rules first, then agree what pays at checkout, by bank transfer or at the counter.

Optics, apparel and storage sold online

Optics carry magnification, objective size, reticle and mount type as attributes shooters can filter by, with filters in Standard. Apparel sells in sizes, each with its own stock, and cleaning kits, safes and cabinets show dimensions and weight; any statement about storage requirements comes from you and the maker.

Ammunition and carriers' limits

Carriers set their own limits on ammunition, firearm parts and other regulated items, and some will not carry ammunition at all. Those products get their own shipping class, offered only the services your carrier accepts or pickup from the shop, agreed at scoping, while a safe is charged by weight under Standard's rules.

The range and the gunsmith

The range and the workshop are booked rather than shipped, so each gets its own page in your words. Gunsmithing can list the work you take on, from scope mounting to repairs, with a request form for the make, model and job; self-service range bookings are quoted separately.

eCommerce packages for firearms dealers.

Three one-off build prices. Any package can list firearms for enquiry and sell accessories; pages for the range, gunsmithing and how buying a firearm works usually point to Standard or Premium.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.

Your store, your hosting, your login.

Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.

The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.

01

No platform commission

Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.

02

Hosting you choose

Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.

03

Care after launch

Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.

04

One Australian team

The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.

From brief to first order.

A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.

Step 01

Scope and price

We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.

Step 02

Design

You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.

Step 03

Build and test

Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.

Step 04

Launch and hand over

We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

Online stores we have built.

These are stores and online sales sites our team designed and built. They show completed work, not a promise of the same result for every business.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.

Firearm store website questions.

Reservations, licence wording, payment and carrier rules, the range, price and timing.

Ask us about your store
How much does a website for a licensed firearms dealer cost?

Basic is $4,990 (6 pages), Standard $5,990 (10 pages) and Premium $7,990 (20 pages): one-off build prices for a custom WooCommerce website, in Australian dollars with GST included. A booking system for range sessions, custom checkout fields, product imports, moving an existing website and courier connections are quoted before work starts.

Every inclusion is on our eCommerce pricing page.

Which package suits a gun shop with a range or gunsmithing service?

Standard usually fits: its 10 website pages hold the shop plus pages on how buying a firearm from you works, the range and gunsmithing, with product filters, customer accounts, advanced shipping rules and SEO. Premium has 20 pages and adds live search, product compare, a mega menu and AI search optimisation (GEO); Basic's six pages suit a dealer that needs only the shop.

Can buyers reserve a firearm through the website?

Yes, as a request your team confirms rather than a sale. Each firearm listing ends in an enquiry or reservation form instead of a cart, so the request arrives with the firearm it is about, and your team then handles the licence and permit steps your state or territory requires; the website does not replace them.

If you take a deposit to hold a firearm, how it can be paid depends on your payment provider's rules, which we check before the build.

Who writes what the website says about licences and permits?

Your dealership does. We set up where the information appears, such as a page on how buying a firearm from you works, a note on each listing and the questions your enquiry form asks, but the wording comes from you and you confirm it is right for your state or territory. We do not give legal advice.

If you ask for licence details with some orders, a checkout field for them is custom work quoted to scope, and the check itself stays with your team.

Will Stripe and PayPal take payments for ammunition and firearm parts?

Not necessarily, which is why we check before the build. Stripe and PayPal come with every package, and Premium adds Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay, but each provider sets its own rules, and some restrict firearms, ammunition and certain parts and accessories. We check your products against your provider's current rules, then agree which pay at checkout, which use WooCommerce's built-in bank transfer option and which are paid at the counter.

Can ammunition use the same delivery options as accessories?

Not automatically. Carriers set their own limits on ammunition, firearm parts and other regulated items, and some refuse ammunition outright, so those products get their own shipping class, offered only the services your carrier accepts or pickup from the shop, as agreed at scoping. Everything else uses your package's shipping rules, and live Australia Post, Sendle or courier rates are a quoted add-on.

How do range bookings and gunsmithing requests work on the site?

Both start as requests on any package. The range and gunsmithing each have a page, and a request form collects the session a shooter wants, or the make, model and work needed, for your team to confirm. If shooters should pick a time slot themselves, that is a booking system, quoted to scope; see booking website design for what it involves.

Do the payment and carrier checks slow the build down?

Not when they come first: we run them at scoping, before the build starts, so the schedule allows for them. A basic store usually takes two to three weeks; a large catalogue of listings, imported product data, range and gunsmithing pages or a booking system add time, and we agree the schedule with the scope and price. If you are opening a new payment account, its approval sits between you and the provider.

Do enquiry-only firearm listings still show up in search?

They can. An enquiry listing is still a product page with a name, photos, specifications and a description that search engines can read. Standard and Premium include keyword and category research and on-page work, so listings, brands, calibres and accessory categories use the words shooters search with, and Premium adds AI search optimisation (GEO). No one can promise a position or an AI citation, and ongoing SEO after launch is a separate service.

When a firearm sells over the counter, how does the website catch up?

Your staff update the listing, or a quoted integration does it. You hold the administrator login and own the website, so a reserved or sold firearm can be updated or taken down in a few clicks, with one-to-one training in Standard and Premium. Keeping stock in step with a point-of-sale system is an integration we quote once we know what your system supports, and our maintenance packages can take on updates for you.

Let's plan how each product sells.

Tell us what you list, from firearms and ammunition to optics, apparel and safes, which payment provider and carriers you use, and whether you run a range or a gunsmithing service. DIGITALON's in-house team at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast will check your products against their rules, match the website to a package and confirm the price in writing.
