Extending WooCommerce without breaking the store.
Subscriptions, bookings, product add-ons or a new way to pay can be added to a store you already run. DIGITALON chooses each extension with care, tests it on a copy of your store before it goes live and quotes the work before anything changes.
Every extension is a long-term guest.
WooCommerce is built to be extended: a large ecosystem of extensions adds subscriptions, bookings, memberships, product add-ons, trade pricing, new payment methods and carrier connections. That openness is its strength and its risk. Each extension brings updates to keep up with, a licence that may renew every year, and code that has to get along with everything else in the store.
So we add features the careful way. We start from the job you need done, check whether WooCommerce or something already installed can do it, then choose a well-supported extension or write custom code. Everything is tested on a copy of your store before it goes live, and the quote lists any licence and its renewal cost.
One more feature, done right.
Usually something customers keep asking for.
- Subscriptions or bookings
- Product options and add-ons

STORE
A feature that stays working.
Chosen, tested and kept up to date.

How to add features to WooCommerce safely.
Six steps for any new feature, whether we built your store or someone else did.
Start with the job, not the plugin
Describe what customers or staff need to do, such as subscribe to a monthly box or add engraving text. The job decides the solution, and sometimes WooCommerce, or an extension you already have, can do it with settings alone.
Judge the extension before installing it
Check who makes it, how recently it was updated, whether it supports your WooCommerce version, how support works and what its licence costs each year. A well-maintained extension from a known maker is usually safer than a cheaper unknown one.
Check what it overlaps with
Two extensions doing similar jobs, such as two discount tools or two shipping add-ons, are a common source of conflicts and slow pages. Before adding one, remove or replace whatever it duplicates.
Test on a copy first
The new feature is installed and tried with test orders on a copy of your store, including checkout, emails and stock, while the live store keeps trading. Only then does it go live, at a quiet time and after a backup.
Extension or custom code
If no well-supported extension fits, or one would need heavy changes, a small piece of custom code written to a specification can be simpler to maintain. Either way, the work is quoted before it starts.
Review the list every year
Extensions pile up. Once a year, check which are still used, which licences are renewing and which have stopped being updated, and remove what the store no longer needs. Our maintenance packages can take this on.
Packages with the features built in.
If your store needs several new features at once, a rebuild on a package may cost less than adding them one by one. Each package includes the features listed and every licence they need.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.
Your store, your hosting, your login.
Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.
The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.
No platform commission
Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.
Hosting you choose
Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.
Care after launch
Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.
One Australian team
The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.
From brief to first order.
A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.
Scope and price
We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.
Design
You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.
Build and test
Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.
Launch and hand over
We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

Extending WooCommerce questions.
Cost, GST, common extensions, reviews, licences, speed and upkeep.
Ask us about your store ↗What does it cost to add a feature to our WooCommerce store?
It depends on the feature and your store. A well-supported extension, set up and tested, is quoted as a job of its own, while custom code or several connected features are scoped first. Every price, including any licence and its renewal, is agreed in writing before work starts.
If you need several features at once, compare that with our packages on eCommerce pricing.
Do your package prices include GST if we rebuild instead?
Yes. $4,990, $5,990 and $7,990 are in Australian dollars with GST included. Quotes for extending an existing store state their own price and how GST applies, and third-party licence fees are charged by their makers.
Which features usually need an extension?
Subscriptions and memberships, bookings and appointments, product add-ons such as engraving or gift messages, trade pricing, gift cards, and live rates from Australia Post or couriers. WooCommerce does a great deal on its own, so we check its built-in settings first.
Do you need to review our store before adding anything?
Yes, if we did not build it. We look at the theme, the installed extensions, the WooCommerce and WordPress versions, the hosting and the backups first, so the new feature lands on a sound base; the review shows whether to add it straight away or fix something first.
What happens when an extension's licence runs out?
It usually keeps working but stops receiving updates and support until it is renewed, which matters once WooCommerce or WordPress moves on. Renewal costs are listed in our quote, and the licences a DIGITALON package build needs are part of its price.
Will a new extension slow our store down?
It can, which is why it is tested on a copy first, including page speed on a phone. Well-made extensions add little; heavy ones, or two that overlap, add more, and we tell you before anything goes live.
Can we install extensions ourselves?
Yes, you hold the administrator login. To stay safe, take a backup first, try the extension on a copy of the store if your host offers one, and test checkout afterwards; or ask us to do it, as a quoted job or through our maintenance packages.
When is a rebuild better than adding more extensions?
When the store already relies on many extensions, updates keep causing conflicts, or the features you want come together in a package. Rebuilding on Standard or Premium can then cost less over time than adding and maintaining them one by one.
How long does adding a feature take?
It depends on the feature and the testing it needs, and we give you the timing with the quote. Custom code or several connected features take longer than a single well-supported extension, and we choose a quiet time to go live.
Can extensions help with SEO or AI search?
Some add structured data or speed, but more extensions do not mean better rankings, and some slow the store down. Search work is part of our Standard and Premium builds and our separate SEO service; no extension can promise rankings or AI citations.
Let's add it the careful way.
Tell us the feature you want and send the store's address, with a list of installed extensions if you have one. We will check what the store can already do, recommend an extension, custom code or a rebuild, and confirm the price, the licences and the timing in writing first.
