eCommerce website development cost comes from your requirements.

The development cost of an online store follows what it has to do: how many pages, how the catalogue is browsed, how people pay and how orders ship. DIGITALON's three packages price those needs at $4,990, $5,990 and $7,990, and anything beyond them is quoted first.

Each requirement moves the price.

Two stores with the same number of products can cost very different amounts to develop. One takes card payments and ships at a flat rate; the other needs customer accounts, product filters, shipping rules by weight and postcode, Afterpay and a search that shows results as you type. Each of those is development work, and each one is a choice you can make.

Our packages group those choices into three fixed prices. Basic covers a simple shop; Standard adds the features a growing catalogue needs, plus SEO; Premium adds more ways to pay, find and track orders, plus GEO. Work no package covers, such as importing a large catalogue or connecting your accounting system, is priced separately before it starts, so the total is known up front.

The requirements that set the cost.

Work through these with your own store in mind. Each one either fits a package or becomes a quoted extra.

Pages around the shop

Basic has six pages: home, about, contact, shop, cart and checkout. More information pages, such as delivery guides or pages about your range, move you to Standard's ten pages or Premium's twenty, which also includes a blog.

How shoppers find products

A small range browses well by category. Once shoppers need to narrow by size, colour or brand, Standard's product filters earn their place; a large range that people search by name suits Premium's live search and product compare.

How customers pay

Card and PayPal payments come with every package, and Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay come with Premium. Trade accounts, invoices on terms or subscriptions need extensions or custom work, quoted to your requirements.

How orders ship

Flat-rate or free shipping is in every package. Rules by weight, location and cart value come with Standard, a shipping calculator and order tracking with Premium, and live rates from Australia Post, Sendle or couriers are a quoted add-on.

Catalogue data and moving stores

The package page counts are website pages, not a product limit. How many products and variations you have, who supplies the data and whether the store moves from another platform are agreed before quoting; large imports and migrations are priced separately.

Other systems and one-off features

Connecting accounting software, stock systems or other tools, and anything WooCommerce cannot do with a standard extension, is scoped and quoted before work starts. Premium already includes connecting your CRM.

Three sets of requirements, three prices.

Match your requirements to a package below. What none of them covers is quoted before work starts, and some of it can wait until after launch.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.

Your store, your hosting, your login.

Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.

The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.

01

No platform commission

Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.

02

Hosting you choose

Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.

03

Care after launch

Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.

04

One Australian team

The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.

From brief to first order.

A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.

Step 01

Scope and price

We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.

Step 02

Design

You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.

Step 03

Build and test

Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.

Step 04

Launch and hand over

We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

Online stores we have built.

These are stores and online sales sites our team designed and built. They show completed work, not a promise of the same result for every business.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.

eCommerce website development cost questions.

Features, GST, products, payments, migration, phasing and timing.

Ask us about your store
Why can a store with few products cost more than one with many?

Because features cost more than products. A small range sold with Afterpay, live search and shipping rules by weight needs Premium, while hundreds of simple products sold by card at a flat rate can fit Basic; the 6, 10 and 20 figures count website pages, not products.

Compare the inclusions on eCommerce pricing.

Is GST on top of the package prices or inside them?

Inside them. $4,990, $5,990 and $7,990 are the amounts you pay, in Australian dollars with GST included, and your tax invoice shows the GST. Any quote for extra work states clearly how GST applies to it.

Do more payment methods raise the development cost?

Only beyond card and PayPal, which every package includes. Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay come with Premium, so wanting them moves the package; other methods, such as invoices on account for trade customers, are quoted to scope.

Is a migration priced as part of the package?

No. Moving products, categories, customers and order history from Shopify, Wix, Squarespace or an older WordPress store is assessed and quoted on top of the package, because every store's data is different. Addresses that already rank are kept or redirected.

What part of the cost is easiest to underestimate?

Product data. Names, descriptions, photos, sizes and prices for every product take time to gather, and if we load or clean a large catalogue, that is quoted work. Starting with tidy data keeps the cost down.

Can we phase the build to keep the first cost down?

Yes. Launch on the package that covers what the store needs now, and leave quoted work that can wait, such as an integration or a full catalogue import, until sales justify it. Each later piece is quoted when you are ready, so nothing is committed early.

Which requirement is most likely to need a custom quote?

A connection to another system, such as accounting, stock or a point-of-sale system, or a feature WooCommerce cannot do with a standard extension, such as a product configurator. We price these after seeing what your other systems support.

Do quoted extras add to the timeline as well as the cost?

Usually, yes. A basic store takes two to three weeks; an import, a migration or an integration adds time, and we tell you how much when we quote it, before work starts.

Does adding SEO change the development cost?

Not as a separate charge: SEO is built into Standard and Premium, with keyword and category research and on-page work from Standard and AI search optimisation (GEO) at Premium. Ongoing SEO after launch is a separate service you can add later.

Are hosting and maintenance part of the development cost?

No, they are running costs. Hosting, your domain and any maintenance plan sit outside the one-off development price, and you can host the store wherever you choose; our hosting and maintenance packages list their own prices.

Let's price your requirements.

Send us a short list of what the store has to do: your range, how customers pay, how you ship and any systems it must connect to. We will map it to a package, quote anything extra and confirm the total in writing before work starts, from our team at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.
