eCommerce website cost, from build to year two.
The build is one cost; owning the store brings others, some monthly, some yearly and some on every sale. DIGITALON's packages are one-off prices from $4,990, and this page sets out the other costs so you can budget for the whole first year.
A store costs more than its build.
Quotes for an online store usually show one number: the build. The store then needs somewhere to run, a domain, a payment provider that takes a fee on each sale, and someone to keep it updated, either you or a maintenance plan. Some owners add ongoing SEO. Each is easy to overlook on its own, but together they decide what the store really costs in its first year.
Our packages make the first number fixed: $4,990, $5,990 or $7,990, including GST, the design, the build and every licence the package needs. Everything else is listed here by how often you pay it, so the budget holds fewer surprises. Where we provide the service, such as hosting or maintenance, the current prices are on their own pages.

Every cost of an online store, by timing.
Sort the costs by how often they arrive and the first-year budget almost writes itself. Third-party amounts depend on the provider you choose.
Once: the build
The package price covers the design, the WooCommerce build, testing, launch and every licence the package needs: $4,990, $5,990 or $7,990, including GST. Product imports, migrations and custom integrations are quoted before work starts, so they are known before you commit.
Monthly: hosting
The store needs hosting sized for its catalogue and traffic. Keep your own host or use our managed WordPress hosting; either way it is a regular cost that rises only if the store needs more resources.
Yearly: the domain and optional licences
Your domain renews with its registrar. Optional extensions added after launch may carry their own yearly licence, which we tell you before adding one; the licences your package needs are already in the build price.
Every sale: payment provider fees
WooCommerce takes no commission, but Stripe, PayPal, Afterpay and banks each charge their own fee on every transaction. The fee is between you and the provider, so compare their published rates against your average order before choosing.
Your time, or ours: upkeep
Updates and security checks can be done by you, with the administrator login and, in Standard and Premium, one-to-one training, or handed to our maintenance packages for a monthly fee. Either way, budget for it from launch day.
Optional: photos, content and SEO
Product photos and descriptions take your time or a supplier's, and photography is worth budgeting for if your range is judged on looks. Ongoing SEO after launch is a separate monthly service you can add when the store is ready to grow.
The one-off part of the budget.
Each package is a fixed price for the design, build, testing and launch, with every licence it needs. Hosting, your domain, payment fees and upkeep are the running costs on top.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.
Your store, your hosting, your login.
Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.
The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.
No platform commission
Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.
Hosting you choose
Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.
Care after launch
Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.
One Australian team
The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.
From brief to first order.
A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.
Scope and price
We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.
Design
You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.
Build and test
Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.
Launch and hand over
We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.
eCommerce website cost questions.
The first-year budget, GST, licences, payment fees, upkeep and SEO.
Ask us about your store ↗What should we budget for the first year of an online store?
Start with the one-off build, $4,990, $5,990 or $7,990, then add hosting, your domain, payment provider fees on each sale and either your own time or a maintenance plan for upkeep. Imports, migrations and custom integrations are quoted before work starts; ongoing SEO is optional.
Compare the packages on eCommerce pricing.
Do the build and running costs include GST?
Our package prices include GST, and so do our advertised hosting and maintenance prices. Third-party costs such as your domain and payment provider fees are set by those providers, so check how each one shows GST.
Which store costs are monthly, and which are yearly?
Hosting and any maintenance plan or ongoing SEO are usually monthly. Your domain renews with its registrar, optional extensions added later may renew yearly, and payment provider fees come with every sale. WooCommerce itself has no monthly fee.
Are there licence renewals to pay after launch?
Not for what your package includes: every licence it needs is in the build price. An optional extension you add later may carry its own yearly licence, and we tell you the cost before adding it.
How much are payment provider fees?
It depends on the provider, the payment method and sometimes your sales volume, so check each provider's published rates; WooCommerce adds nothing on top. We help you choose a mix that suits your customers and your margins, since the lowest fee is not always on the method shoppers prefer.
Which package keeps the first-year cost lowest?
Basic, at $4,990, if six pages and its features cover what you sell: card and PayPal payments, flat-rate or free shipping, a firewall, an SSL certificate and nightly backups. A package that is too small can cost more later, so we recommend the one that fits your range.
What could add to the build price?
Only work outside the package, and only after you approve a quote: large product imports, moving from another platform, custom features, and connections to accounting, courier or other systems. We price each one before work starts.
Do we need to pay for product photography?
Not to us. Product photos come from you, your supplier or a photographer you choose, and good photos are worth budgeting for if shoppers judge your products on looks. Every package includes stock images for the pages around the shop.
Can we lower running costs by looking after the store ourselves?
Yes. You hold the administrator login and can run updates yourself, with one-to-one training in Standard and Premium. Hosting and payment fees remain either way; maintenance is the cost you can swap for your own time.
Is SEO a running cost or part of the build?
Both, in different ways. SEO from Standard and AI search optimisation (GEO) at Premium are in the one-off build price; ongoing SEO after launch is a separate monthly service you can add or skip. No one can promise rankings, so judge ongoing SEO by the work it includes.
Let's budget your store properly.
Tell us what you sell, roughly how many products and how you plan to ship. We will recommend the package, list the running costs your store will have, and confirm the build price in writing before work starts, from our team at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.
