Start an online store with products that travel.
The products you choose decide how an online store runs: what postage costs, how often orders come back and whether anyone searches for them. DIGITALON builds WooCommerce stores on the Sunshine Coast, and the range you start with shapes the store we build.
The product decides the store.
Two online stores with the same design can run very differently because of what they sell. A light, sturdy product in one size travels cheaply and rarely comes back; a fragile or bulky one needs careful packing, costs more to post and turns every delivery problem into a refund. Before a store is built, it pays to look at the range as a parcel, a margin and a search.
We build stores on WordPress and WooCommerce, and the range shapes most of the build: the shipping rules, the product types, the filters and the pages shoppers land on. Start with products you can source reliably, price them so each order still pays after postage and fees, and launch with a tested range before adding the rest.

STORE
The range you choose.
Shipping rules, product types and filters follow what you sell.
- Postage by weight or size
- Variations with their own stock
- Room to add lines later
Six checks before a product goes online.
A product that sells well in person does not always suit a parcel. Run each line through these checks before it joins the launch range.
How it packs and posts
Weigh and measure the product in its packaging. Small, light and sturdy items post cheaply in a satchel; fragile, heavy or oddly shaped ones need boxes, padding and sometimes a courier, and that postage shapes the price shoppers see at checkout.
What is left after every cost
Take the selling price and subtract the product cost, packaging, any postage you absorb, your payment provider's fee and GST if the business is registered. What remains has to cover your time, the store's running costs and the occasional return.
How often it comes back
Products bought on fit, colour or feel come back more often than products bought on a specification. Some returns are your choice, such as a change of mind; faulty goods are part of selling anything. Allow for both, and state plainly what your policy covers.
Supply you can rely on
A product that is out of stock for months frustrates the shoppers who found it. Check that the supplier, or your own workshop, can keep up, how long reorders take and whether minimum orders tie up cash; WooCommerce's stock tracking and low-stock alerts help once orders start.
Whether people search for it
Shoppers describe what they want before they know your name. Check the words people use for the product, whether those searches exist and who already appears for them; keyword and category research is part of our Standard and Premium builds.
A tested range before a full one
Launch with the products you are surest of, watch which sell and which come back, then add lines in batches. Categories and filters can be planned for the full range from the start, so growing it later needs no rebuild.
Build the store around your first range.
One-off prices with GST included. The page counts are website pages, not a limit on products; the size and shape of the range are agreed before we quote.

- Your CRM integrated
Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.
Your store, your hosting, your login.
Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.
The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.
No platform commission
Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.
Hosting you choose
Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.
Care after launch
Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.
One Australian team
The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.
From brief to first order.
A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.
Scope and price
We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.
Design
You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.
Build and test
Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.
Launch and hand over
We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.
Questions about choosing what to sell.
Package fit, GST, products that suit online selling, postage, margins, returns, supply, search, timing and support.
Ask us about your store ↗Does a small launch range still need Standard?
Not always. Basic suits a small range that ships at flat or free rates and takes cards and PayPal. Choose Standard when shoppers need filters or accounts, when postage should vary by weight and location, or when you want SEO from the start; Premium adds Afterpay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and live product search. Prices are on eCommerce pricing.
Should our product prices include GST, as yours do?
Our build prices include GST: $4,990, $5,990 and $7,990, each paid once. For your own products, prices to Australian shoppers are normally shown including GST, which WooCommerce handles with a price display suffix, and the GST share is not margin. Whether the business must register for GST is a question for your accountant or the ATO.
Which products are hardest to sell through an online store?
Products that are fragile, very heavy, oversized, perishable or restricted in the post take the most planning, because packing and postage eat into the margin and carriers set their own rules. They can still sell online; the store needs the right shipping rules, local delivery or pickup, and prices that allow for those costs.
How do we price products so postage doesn't eat the margin?
Work out postage from real parcels first. You can build part of the postage into the product price and charge the rest at checkout, or offer free shipping only on products that can carry it. Standard adds shipping rules by weight, location and cart value, so heavy and light items are charged fairly.
Should we sell one product line or several at launch?
Usually the line you know best, plus anything that sells naturally beside it. A focused range is easier to photograph, describe, stock and get found for, and early orders show what to add next. The categories can be planned for the full range now, so new lines fit in without a rebuild.
How do returns affect which products we choose?
Every return costs postage, handling and sometimes the product itself, so lines that come back often need a bigger margin or a clearer page. Size charts, measurements, close-up photos and honest descriptions prevent many returns, and refunds go back through the payment provider from the WooCommerce order screen.
What if a supplier can't keep a product in stock?
WooCommerce tracks stock for each product and size, and can hide sold-out items, show them as out of stock or take backorders while you wait. Keep supply in mind when choosing the products you promote most: a bestseller that is often unavailable loses the shoppers who searched for it.
Will you check whether people search for our products?
With Standard and Premium, yes: keyword and category research shapes the product names, categories and page copy before launch, and Premium adds AI search optimisation (GEO). It shows how people search, not a promised position or traffic figure; ongoing work is available through our SEO packages.
What sets the build time for a first range?
Mostly the range itself. A basic store usually takes two to three weeks once the products, photos and details are ready; more products, variations or shipping rules add build time, and a large import is quoted and scheduled before work starts.
Can you help us adjust the range after launch?
Yes. You can edit products, prices and photos yourself with the administrator login, and Standard and Premium include one-to-one training. Bigger changes, such as new product types, filters or shipping rules for a new line, can be quoted, and our maintenance packages keep the store updated and backed up.
Show us what you plan to sell.
Send us a list of the products you plan to start with, roughly what they weigh and how you source them. Our team at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast will suggest a package, point out anything that needs special shipping and give you a written quote.
