Create an online shop website with words that sell.

A shop's product pages do the job of a salesperson who is never there to answer questions. DIGITALON creates WooCommerce shop websites with a place for every product detail, and tells you exactly what each page needs, for a one-off build price.

Shoppers can't pick it up.

In a shop, a customer can pick the product up, read the label and ask a question. Online, the words and photos are all they have. A product page that leaves out the size, the material, what is in the box or when it will arrive sends the shopper back to search, often to a store that did say. That is why the content of an online shop website deserves as much planning as its design.

We build the structure that makes good content easy to keep: product templates with a place for every detail, specifications as attributes rather than buried in paragraphs, photo slots for each variation, and category pages with room for a short introduction. You know your products best, so you supply the facts and the wording; Standard and Premium add keyword research so the words match what customers search for.

How to write an online shop's content.

These are the pieces every shop website needs, in the order shoppers read them. We build a place for each; the facts and wording come from you.

Product names people search for

Name products the way customers describe them, with the brand, type and key attribute, such as 'Merino crew-neck jumper, navy', rather than an internal code. With Standard, keyword research shows which words your customers actually use.

Descriptions that answer first

Open with what the product is and who it suits, then cover size or fit, materials, care, what is included and anything a buyer would ask at the counter. Short paragraphs and lists read better on a phone than one long block.

Specifications as attributes, not prose

Dimensions, weight, material and compatibility entered as attributes show in a consistent table, power the filters that come with Standard and the product compare in Premium, and stay readable for search engines and AI search tools.

A photo set for every product

Plan a main photo on a plain background, close-ups of details, one showing size or use, and a photo for each colour or variation. Consistent proportions keep category pages tidy, and every image gets text describing it for screen readers.

Category pages that guide

A short introduction at the top of each category helps shoppers choose within it, such as which type suits which use, and gives search engines context for the products below. Two or three sentences are usually enough.

Reviews from real buyers

WooCommerce can collect product reviews from customers and mark those who bought the item as verified owners. Genuine reviews answer questions your description missed, so ask for them after delivery and reply to the critical ones.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.

Your store, your hosting, your login.

Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.

The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.

01

No platform commission

Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.

02

Hosting you choose

Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.

03

Care after launch

Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.

04

One Australian team

The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.

From brief to first order.

A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.

Step 01

Scope and price

We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.

Step 02

Design

You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.

Step 03

Build and test

Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.

Step 04

Launch and hand over

We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

Online stores we have built.

These are stores and online sales sites our team designed and built. They show completed work, not a promise of the same result for every business.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.

Online shop content questions.

Who writes what, photos, specifications, search, price and timing.

Ask us about your store
What does it cost to create an online shop website?

A custom WooCommerce shop website costs $4,990 for Basic (6 pages), $5,990 for Standard (10 pages) or $7,990 for Premium (20 pages), as a one-off build price. Loading a large catalogue of products and descriptions from a file is quoted before work starts.

The eCommerce pricing page sets out each package in full.

Is GST included in the shop website prices?

Yes. All three prices are in Australian dollars and include GST, itemised on your invoice. Hosting, your domain and payment provider fees are separate.

Do you write our product descriptions?

Usually you supply them, because you know the products, the materials and the questions customers ask. We set up where each detail goes, fit your wording into the design and, with Standard, use keyword research to suggest the words customers search for. Writing large volumes of new copy can be scoped and quoted.

How long should a product description be?

Long enough to answer what a buyer would ask in person, and no longer. A simple product may need two or three sentences plus its specifications; a technical or expensive one needs sizing, materials, care, compatibility and what is included. Put the answer first and use lists for details.

Which photos should each product have?

A main photo on a plain background, close-ups of details, one that shows size or the product in use, and one for each colour or variation that looks different. Keep the same proportions across the range; any stock images we use in the design are included at no extra charge.

Should specifications go in the description or somewhere else?

In attributes. Size, weight, material or compatibility entered as attributes appear in a consistent table, feed the product filters that come with Standard and the product compare in Premium, and are easier for search engines and AI search tools to read than facts buried in a paragraph.

How does shop content affect search and AI results?

Clear product names, descriptions and category introductions give search engines and AI search tools more to understand. Standard and Premium include keyword and category research and on-page SEO, and Premium adds AI search optimisation (GEO); ongoing SEO is a separate service, and no ranking or AI citation can be promised.

Which package suits a shop with a lot of content?

Standard suits most: ten pages for the shop and its supporting content, product filters and categories, SEO, customer accounts and advanced shipping rules. Premium adds twenty pages, a blog for buying guides, AI search optimisation (GEO), live search, product compare, and Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay. Basic's six pages suit a small range with little supporting content.

When does our content need to be ready?

Product details and photos are needed during the build, after the design is signed off. A basic store usually takes two to three weeks when content arrives on time; late content moves the launch date, so we agree dates for it with the schedule.

Who keeps product content up to date after launch?

Your team, usually: you own the store and hold the administrator login, so descriptions, photos and prices can change at any time, with one-to-one training in Standard and Premium. Some of our maintenance packages include content updates if you would rather send changes to us, on managed WordPress hosting.

Let's plan your shop's content.

Send us a few of your products as they are described now, with photos if you have them. We will show you what each product page needs, recommend a package and confirm the price and schedule in writing. Our in-house team works from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast with shops across Australia.
