Art shop website design that lets the work sell.

Art buyers want to see the work properly, know exactly what they are buying and trust that it will arrive safely. DIGITALON designs and builds WooCommerce stores for galleries, art shops and artists from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast, at a price agreed before work starts.

The picture is the product page.

Online, a painting or a print is judged almost entirely by its images and the few facts beside them. Buyers zoom in, compare sizes against their wall, check whether a piece is an original or an edition, and look for the artist behind it. A store that shows the work large and sharp, states the medium, size and framing plainly, and introduces the artist earns the confidence to buy.

We design art stores so the work has room while the page stays fast on a phone, because product photos are compressed automatically and served in modern formats. Originals can sell once and then show as sold, editions can carry a limited stock count, and size or framing options are clear choices with their own prices. Shipping is planned around how you actually pack and send work.

What an art shop website needs.

Selling art online is part gallery and part logistics, and a good store handles both without fuss.

Images large enough to judge

Several views of each work, including details and in-room shots if you have them, shown large and sharp. Automatic compression keeps the files light, so pages still load quickly over mobile data.

Originals, editions and prints

An original sells once and then shows as sold; a limited edition carries its edition size and remaining stock; open prints can come in several sizes. Each is set up as the product type it really is.

Size and framing options

Print sizes, paper or canvas and framing choices set up as options with their own prices, so a buyer sees the final price before checkout instead of emailing to ask.

Artist profiles and collections

A page for each artist with a short biography and their available works, plus collections by theme, medium or exhibition. Collections use product categories, which come with Standard.

Packing and shipping fragile work

Large or framed pieces cost more to send and need careful packing. Flat-rate or free shipping comes with every package, rules by weight, location or cart value with Standard, and courier connections are a quoted add-on.

Room for commissions and viewings

Some buyers want a custom size, a commission or a private viewing before they commit. An enquiry button on selected works, linked to your contact form, keeps those conversations going without forcing a cart.

Hosting, your domain, your payment provider’s transaction fees and ongoing maintenance are separate. The page counts are website pages, not a product limit: catalogue size, product imports, migrations and custom integrations are agreed and quoted before work starts. Compare every inclusion and the optional features on eCommerce pricing, or see website design packages if you do not need a shop.

Your store, your hosting, your login.

Every DIGITALON store is a custom WordPress and WooCommerce build. WooCommerce is free and open source, takes no commission on your sales and runs on hosting you choose, with the administrator login yours from day one.

The shop and the pages that bring shoppers to it live in one WordPress site, edited the same way. You can run it yourself, or hand the updates to the team that built it.

01

No platform commission

Your payment provider charges its transaction fee. WooCommerce itself takes no percentage of your sales and has no monthly platform fee.

02

Hosting you choose

Keep your own host, or use our managed WordPress hosting, sized for the catalogue and the traffic you expect.

03

Care after launch

Our maintenance packages cover plugin and WooCommerce updates, backups, security checks and support.

04

One Australian team

The people who scope, design and build the store are the people who answer your questions, from Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast.

From brief to first order.

A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. Extra features and integrations add time, and we tell you how much before we begin.

Step 01

Scope and price

We agree the pages, catalogue, features and search work, then confirm the package, any extras and the payment stages in writing.

Step 02

Design

You see the design and sign it off before the build starts, while changing a layout is still quick.

Step 03

Build and test

Products, payments, shipping and tax are set up in WooCommerce, then tested with real orders on a phone and a desktop.

Step 04

Launch and hand over

We go live and hand over your administrator login. Standard and Premium include one-to-one training on your own store.

Online stores we have built.

These are stores and online sales sites our team designed and built. They show completed work, not a promise of the same result for every business.

I was very impressed as they were very responsive and helpful as I was a newbie. Good communication with Sabrina who took the time to explain all the process and gave some tips.

Art shop website questions.

Originals and prints, framing, shipping, price, timing and support.

Ask us about your store
What does it cost to build an online art shop?

A custom WooCommerce store costs $4,990 for Basic (6 pages), $5,990 for Standard (10 pages) or $7,990 for Premium (20 pages), as a one-off build price. Product imports, a framing calculator priced by custom dimensions and other custom features are quoted before work starts.

Every inclusion is on our eCommerce pricing page.

Is GST included in your art shop website prices?

Yes. All three build prices are in Australian dollars and include GST, which your invoice shows separately. Hosting, your domain and payment provider fees are not part of the build price.

Can an original artwork come off sale once it is bought?

Yes. An original is set up with a stock of one, so it shows as sold the moment it is ordered and nobody can buy it twice. Limited editions carry their remaining number in the same way.

Can buyers choose print size and framing?

Yes. Sizes, paper or canvas and framing are set up as product options with their own prices and stock, so the cart shows the full price. A framing calculator priced by custom dimensions is quoted as extra work.

Which package suits a gallery or an artist?

Basic suits a small collection with card and PayPal payments and simple shipping. Standard adds product categories for collections, filters, customer accounts and keyword research with on-page SEO. Premium adds a blog for exhibitions and news, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay, live product search, order tracking and AI search optimisation (GEO).

How should we charge for shipping large or framed works?

By what each work costs to send. Every package includes flat-rate or free shipping, Standard adds rules by weight, location and cart value, and Premium adds a shipping cost calculator and order tracking. Live Australia Post, Sendle or courier rates are a quoted add-on.

Will large artwork images slow the site down?

Not when they are handled properly. Product photos are compressed automatically and served in modern formats such as WebP or AVIF, so a gallery of large images still loads quickly on a phone. Hosting sized for your traffic helps too; see our managed WordPress hosting.

How soon can our art shop open?

A basic store usually takes two to three weeks. A large collection, imported product data or custom options add time, and we agree the schedule with the scope and price before work starts.

Can we add new works ourselves?

Yes. You receive the administrator login and own the store, so you can add works, mark pieces as sold and change prices yourself, with one-to-one training in Standard and Premium. Our maintenance packages cover updates, backups and security if you would rather not.

Let's plan your art shop.

Tell us how many works you sell, which are originals or editions, and how you pack and ship them. DIGITALON's in-house team at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast will suggest a package, point out anything priced separately and give you a fixed price before any work begins, wherever you are in Australia.
