Plan around the information patients actually need.

Bring service information, practitioner profiles and appointment options together. Patients and referrers should be able to find the right information and understand how to contact your practice.

  1. 01Service information with boundaries

Group approved service pages around the questions patients and referrers ask before contacting the practice. Plain-language headings can make the subject easier to navigate, while practitioners retain responsibility for clinical wording, eligibility details and any information that needs regular review.

  2. 02Practitioner and location details

Profiles can introduce approved qualifications, roles, consulting locations and referral preferences. A clinic with several practitioners or rooms may need structured profiles and location pages so a visitor can see who works where before choosing a contact option.

  3. 03Booking that reflects the real process

A link or supported embed can direct people to an existing appointment provider after the categories and locations have been checked. Some services may require a call, referral or reception review first, so the website should not imply that every appointment is instantly available online.

  4. 04Accessible clinical reading

Design can support mobile reading with logical headings, clear labels, useful contrast and contact details available as text. Formal accessibility testing, translations, portal access and specialist integrations can be considered where they are required and included in the agreed scope.

What to settle before a patient contacts you.

Orthopaedic surgeon website design should clearly present clinician profiles, clinic sites, referral contacts and consultation preparation. Referrers and patients need to identify the correct location, know which documents the practice asks them to provide and find a direct administrative contact, without having to navigate generic health or surgery content.

01

Approved service descriptions

Prepare a current list of services, the language patients use to find them and any distinctions between locations or practitioners. Your clinical lead should approve descriptions, images, fee references and referral information. The website can explain your published offer, but it should not diagnose, recommend treatment or promise an outcome.

02

A safe enquiry route

Decide what a standard enquiry form should collect, who receives it and when it is monitored. Include your practice-approved instructions for urgent situations rather than relying on a form as an immediate-response channel. If health information is involved, confirm the chosen system and handling process before it is added.

03

Current people and place details

Gather practitioner biographies, professional credentials, current photographs, clinic addresses, parking or access details and opening hours. Name an owner for changes after launch. This avoids a site presenting outdated availability or a practitioner who no longer works at a particular location.

04

Existing systems to assess

List any appointment platform, referral process, patient portal, CRM or forms currently used by the practice. A clear link may be enough. An embed, data transfer or custom integration needs its supported method, permissions, privacy considerations and third-party costs assessed before it becomes part of the proposal.

Orthopaedic surgeon website design questions.

A few things to consider before planning your new website.

Let’s talk
Can a clinical website explain treatments?

It can publish practitioner-approved descriptions of the services your clinic provides, who they may be relevant to and how to make an enquiry. The content should stay general and clearly direct visitors to discuss individual circumstances with an appropriate practitioner. DIGITALON can organise and present that information; your clinical team approves its accuracy.

Can patients book online from the website?

Often, if your current booking provider offers a suitable link or embed. We first check appointment types, locations, new-versus-existing patient paths and what the system confirms after submission. If a service needs a referral, triage or reception call, the site can explain that route rather than treating every enquiry as an instant booking.

Do we need separate pages for every service?

Not necessarily. Start with the services you actively provide and the questions visitors need answered before contacting you. Related services may sit under one practical overview, while complex subjects may deserve their own approved page. The page plan should reflect your actual offer, not a list created solely to repeat close search phrases.

Can the website collect health information?

That changes the scope of a simple website enquiry form. Tell us what information is needed, who can access it, where it is stored and whether your existing patient system already provides an approved route. We can assess a supported connection or link, but should not turn a general form into a clinical record system by default.

Will search optimisation be included?

Every website build includes the agreed on-page foundations, while the current Standard package adds SEO setup and Premium adds GEO setup. Ongoing SEO, clinical content review and additional pages are separate scope decisions. Search visibility depends on many factors, so no ranking or patient-enquiry outcome is guaranteed.

What should we provide to start?

Bring a current service list, practitioner and location details, approved imagery, existing domain access arrangements and the contact or booking process you want people to follow. Flag any policy wording, referral instructions or systems that need review. This gives the project a useful content plan before page count and optional functionality are confirmed.

How can an orthopaedic practice make clinic locations clear?

Give every clinic its own location panel with address, appointment contact, parking or arrival details supplied by the practice and clinician availability where published. Link its referral route directly from that panel, so administrative instructions remain connected to the place an appointment will occur.

Can we start with the main pages and add more later?

Yes. Agree the essential page list first, then identify the content you would like to add later. We plan the navigation so the initial site is useful on its own. Additional page design, specialist functionality and third-party connections are quoted to their scope when you are ready to proceed.
