Start with the shopping journey you can support.

Make your range easy to explore with clear categories, useful product information and strong imagery. We plan the right balance of browsing, enquiries and online selling around your business.

  1. 01Product categories before product volume

A site can organise the product range around the way customers browse, then explain key categories, brands or services. A smaller catalogue may only need enquiry routes and store information. Larger product data, stock management and product filtering should be planned against the systems your business already uses.

  2. 02Optional online purchasing

WooCommerce or another supported platform can be considered when products, payments, fulfilment and customer support are ready to operate. This is not an automatic entitlement of a general website package. Product imports, delivery rules, tax settings, subscriptions and custom functionality are scoped separately.

  3. 03Store, collection and contact details

Clear opening hours, store location, collection information and contact routes help local customers decide how to buy. If products are available only in-store or by quote, the site can make that clear. Do not show online availability or collection timing unless your team maintains it.

  4. 04Product content you can maintain

Nominated staff can maintain agreed WordPress or store content after handover. Establish who owns product images, descriptions, prices and discontinued lines. Marketplace connections, point-of-sale sync, loyalty systems and customer portals are optional integrations assessed against providers and ongoing maintenance needs.

What a customer needs before choosing how to buy.

Sign company website design should separate vehicle graphics, building signs, event displays, wayfinding and printed products so customers can locate the right service. Show approved finished work, material options and the design or installation process the company uses. A quote form can ask about dimensions, site location, existing artwork and any approvals the customer needs to obtain.

01

Product and category source material

Prepare current product categories, approved descriptions, images, sizes, variations and any information customers need before enquiring. Decide what belongs on a product page and what stays with trained staff. Pricing, stock and product claims must have a named owner because they can change quickly.

02

The actual sales and fulfilment path

Clarify whether customers browse, enquire, reserve, collect, pay online or buy through another channel. Map delivery areas, returns, support and payment responsibilities where online selling is planned. A website should not imply checkout, stock or delivery capability that the business has not set up and tested.

03

Platforms and third-party costs

List the point-of-sale, inventory, marketplace, payment and shipping providers already used. A simple store may start without integration. Imports, synchronisation, customer accounts, payment fees and third-party subscriptions need explicit review, proposal scope and sign-off; they are not standard package inclusions.

04

A plan for ongoing product updates

Decide who publishes new products, retires old lines, updates prices and answers customer enquiries. Build only a workflow your team can sustain. Large catalogues, complex filters, wholesale access and custom product configurators may need a staged plan and separately quoted development.

Sign company website design questions.

A few things to consider before planning your new website.

Let’s talk
Do all retail websites need online checkout?

No. Some businesses need a clear product catalogue, store information and an enquiry path rather than full eCommerce. The right choice depends on your products, fulfilment process and staff capacity. Online checkout, payments, shipping and customer accounts are optional scoped additions, not automatic package entitlements.

Can you import our existing products?

We can assess the source system, product data quality, variations, images and the destination platform before estimating the work. Small manual collections and larger catalogue imports need different approaches. Data cleanup, mapping, stock sync and custom fields are separate scope decisions rather than assumed inclusions.

Can the site show live stock?

Only when the inventory provider offers a reliable supported connection and there is a plan for exceptions. A product page can say to enquire if that suits the business. Live stock, warehouse sync and marketplace feeds require supplier access, data review, ongoing maintenance and clear customer-facing conditions.

Can customers collect from our shop?

Yes, where your sales and fulfilment process supports it. The site can explain collection location, hours and the step at which an order is ready. Payment, reservations, stock allocation and confirmation messages depend on the chosen platform and are scoped after the practical workflow is agreed.

Is eCommerce included in a website package?

eCommerce is a distinct website offering with its own scope. The right build depends on product count, checkout, payments, delivery, taxes and integrations. General packages are not a promise of a full online shop. We clarify the required journey and current platform options before recommending a suitable proposal.

Can product pages improve search visibility?

Well-organised, accurate product and category content can support a useful website structure, but rankings and sales are not guaranteed. Current Standard packages include SEO setup and Premium includes GEO setup; ongoing eCommerce SEO is separate. Avoid creating thin duplicate pages purely to repeat a product phrase.

How should a sign company handle artwork approval online?

Use the website to explain the stages where customers review artwork, confirm dimensions and approve production, based on the company's normal process. A project form can collect existing logos or brand files if that workflow is ready. Final artwork should stay within the agreed review process rather than being approved casually through public page comments.

Can we start with the main pages and add more later?

Yes. Agree the essential page list first, then identify the content you would like to add later. We plan the navigation so the initial site is useful on its own. Additional page design, specialist functionality and third-party connections are quoted to their scope when you are ready to proceed.
